I'm not entirely certain about Manning but I think Brady is one of the most overrated QBs to ever play the game. When you have one of the best offensive lines in the entire League and one of the strongest corps of receivers, if you don't post insane stats something is wrong. Not having an offensive line can make a huge difference. Look at the Ravens and Steelers. Both teams have excellent starting QBs and a great selection of wide receivers. Yet Joe and Ben don't have the greatest of numbers. Watching the hits they take and the amazingly bad performances their offensive lines have had can explain that quite easily. Whereas you get Matt Ryan who's not as good as either of those two and has a superior offensive line, and his stats are better. That's really not a surprise. Brady gets a ton of time to throw the ball, and has great receivers who can make plays. Very seldom does Brady get sacked, much less hit or even hurried. That's also why a mediocre running back like Danny Woodhead can get good yardage. I remember that great receiving corps back in the day of David Givens, Deion Branch, Troy Brown, Benjamin Watson and Daniel Graham. Now he's got some dang old Welker, Lloyd, Gronk and Hernandez. I'm really pining for the good old days.

He's had 5 maybe 5 that could make it elsewhere, IMO, Welker, Moss, Gronk and Hernandez. The only other person I can think of would be Stallworth and I think he's a two or three at best. Brady has made a lot of people look good and because he has had little to no run game teams focus on the pass and he still torches them. I've watched him through college and into today and he is that good.

Brady has made a lot of people look good and because he has had little to no run game teams focus on the pass and he still torches them. I've watched him through college and into today and he is that good. You and Sektor above are quite right, a lot of his receivers look great because of the passes that he makes to them. But my point is that he is a QB who plays with a phenomenal offensive line that gives his receivers due time to get separation, to run complex routes, and gives Brady the opportunity to throw the ball whenever he sees fit. Never having to worry about getting hurried or hit makes the game a whole lot easier to play. He gets twice the time to throw as a lot of other guys, and given that his style is that of a pure pocket passer, every second he gets makes him all the more dangerous. I don't think we'll ever know quite how good he actually is until he gets a run-of-the-mill offensive line that forces him to play like most QBs. In games where he gets pressured he gets thrown off pretty badly. But I don't think that he's ever going to have a bad O-line, not between the relatively short time he has left to be a starting QB and the importance that the Pats coaching and management seems to place on having a good set of linemen.

This new Bears coach seems like a stereotypical Canadian super nice guy - I feel bad for him that he's got to go to Chicago.

They just jokingly brought up Tebow as a fit in Chip Kelly's offense on NFLNetwork - Charley Casserly says he'd be a good fit.

PFT brought up Tebow to the Bears based on the new coach being Tebow's draft coach and pushing for his CFL team to (successfully) get his CFL rights. I don't see it happening personally but would be interesting.

There's no way Cutler would be up for that - I see him demanding a trade if Tebow rolls into town.

Tebow belongs in the CFL. It's where we send our subpar NFL quarterbacks to have decent careers.

Rings and playoff success do matter, don't get me wrong, but they do not solely dictate a QB's greatness.
Brad Dilfer and Brad Johnson have as many rings as Peyton, and they did it piggybacking all-time great defenses.
SB appearances- David Woodley made as many as Dan Marino and one more than Dan Fouts and Warren Moon combined. Woodley beat Fouts in a playoff game.
Playoffs- Mark Sanchez has 1 more career playoff win than Warren Moon.

Ken Whisenhunt to be the new Chargers OC. This Chargers team is scaring me more and more. I still think we'll take the West but it's not the easy path I was thinking it'd be.

But, when stacking up the elite QB's (The Mannings, Brady, Rodgers, Brees, Rothlisberger) success in the postseason is more than fair to bring into the equation
