Is Trump really that big of an ass?? Can someone explain this to me please?? Just a couple of examples. His constant accusations at Obama have pissed off some people (look it up, it's obviously Politcal so I don't want to go into details here). His alleged treatment of residents in Scotland when he was trying to build a new golf resort there. It was made into a documentary called "You've been Trumped" and Trump insulted the Director and one of the residents who refused to sell his land to him. Those are two reasons why. I'm sure there are many more which piss people off as he's very outspoken. I can't stand the man but I think he is deserving of being inducted when you consider his relationship with WWE/F over the years and what he has done to help the company. However, I think there are more deserving celebrities who should have been inducted before him. I'm shocked that Cyndi Lauper wasn't announced seeing as she's a New Yorker, is more than deserving for what she did for Wrestling and has been on WWE TV recently.

This rebranding comes as WWE finally inducts Bruno Sammartino. I have to wonder if this is related. I would imagine so. Although I'm still surprised they announced a celebrity going in the same year as Bruno. I'd have avoided it completely (so as not to tick him off, but also because Bruno got them the celebrity attention already)...

I've listened to Bryan and Dave's free podcast from today and they didn't mention it (the rebranding). Keller didn't mention it in his written report or hotline. To me, it was very obvious last night that WWE is changing their terminology with Celebrity inductions. I think it is done to make a bigger distinction between the regular inductees and the celebrities. The only form of the word 'induct' made last night was by Lawler and Cole re-emphasized the word 'honoree' quickly afterward. It's like WWE is conscious of the hypothetical argument, "You mean they are inducting Trump, but _____ is not in there." Now WWE is trying to make a bigger distinction. It's not a big deal, but I am surprised I haven't heard more acknowledgement of it.

He is also legendarily bullheaded, for instance he was fighting with the Long Island zoning board about building his Restaurant or Hotel on one of the beaches. The problem was he wanted it to have a basement... and the zoning board continually refused because it was on the beach... at sea level. He didn't know or care why that was a problem.

It's not a big deal, but I am surprised I haven't heard more acknowledgement of it. I think part of the problem is that WWE doesn't have a set number of inductees per year. So if one year you have 8 wrestlers go in and the next year you have 7 plus one celebrity, it essentially looks like that celebrity is taking up a wrestlers spot and now there isn't enough time left at the ceremony (or maybe funds) to put another guy in. At the end of the day the celebrity still gets the ring, still gets the plaque, still gets the money (a lot more of it actually) and still gets the same amount of induction space as the wrestler. As for Bruno, he knew WWE inducted celebrities and knew they weren't going to stop. Hell he's entertaining the idea of Arnold Schwarzenegger inducting him. This isn't a huge issue anymore with him.

I don't like Trump. I'm surprised he isn't a bigger laughing stock to the general public. I'm surprised so many can take him seriously and that he can still host a show on a major network.
That said, I don't mind him being inducted. He is actually a worthy 'Celebrity Honoree.'

BTW, with old school RAW coming next week, it'll be interesting to see which Non-WWE Hall of Famers are booked. Last time they had it, they added the commercial bumper with Lord Alfred Hayes. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oTe42E_WpdsIf they do that again consciously, you'd think they'd recall he's not yet been inducted into the Hall of Fame. When he died, WWE did the ten bell salute for him and had Jim Ross speak kinds words about him before airing a video tribute. I believe the video tribute is on youtube. They don't do that for everyone. He'd make a great posthumous induction. A couple of notable old school wrestlers were born in Buffalo like Adrian Adonis, Lex Luger, and Mark Lewin. Ed Don George was born just east of it. Sometimes WWE likes to announce inductees in places of meaning to the wrestler if they can. The Destroyer Dick Beyer currently resides in Buffalo, New York. I wonder if he'll be contacted. He inducted Gorgeous George into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2010 and isn't getting any younger.

Also, he was almost entirely responsible for killing the United States Football League in the 1980's. A few teams aside, most franchises were doing well, playing a spring schedule. Then Trump buys the New Jersey Generals, and insists on moving the schedule into the fall and competing directly with the NFL. Result: The USFL was dead a year later.

Trump was just on Jimmy Fallon's show, and the HoF was never brought up. I'm sure WWE will love that.

Luger is going in the next time they are in or around Georgia (perhaps Next Year), Adonis probably in the Midwest or Canada. I don't think Mark Lewin or Ed Don George are going into the WWE Hall of Fame.

Backlund and Maria Menounos are friends? Huh, woulda never guessed that ever.
Vince would be a good inductor for Bruno, but other than that he really should never induct anyone ever again - or used INCREDIBLY sparingly. Austin was appropriate. Bruno would be. Maybe Macho? Other than that.......no one.

I remember Maria Menounos wearing a Bob Backlund shirt. Wow, never would have guessed they are friends.

It'd be great if they could Koloff in there this year as well, that would cover just about everyone up until the modern era, we'd only be missing Stasiak, Savage, Warrior, Sid and Undertaker.

I think he was referring to guys who were WWWF/WWF Champions. Those 6 get in, and every WWF Champion through to mid-1998 would be in the Hall Of Fame.
