The Foley vs. Snow rivalry is my all-time favorite running joke.

I know the family insists on all the Poffo's going in together but, man, it would be an outright crime if Macho Man and Miss Elizabeth weren't inducted together. Elizabeth's family (especially her mother) blamed the pro wrestling business for her death. They didn't even allow any wrestlers to attend her funeral services. So I think it would be another Owen Hart-type of situation where Elizabeth's family wouldn't allow her to be inducted. Her family did allow a figure of her to be made.

to save time it should go like this, Lawler comes out as host and inducts someone. that person accepts the award and inducts the next person. show would take about 35 minutes

With the second greatest wrestlers in both Japanese (Antonio Inoki) and Mexican (Mil Mascaras) history inducted in the WWE Hall of Fame, I'm hopeful for future inductees of the actual greatest from each nation: Rikidozan and El Santo. Both are dead, which definitely hurts their chances, but do you think either will ever happen? Who do you think has a better chance of the two?

I'd think El Santo would be more likely than Rikidozan, but either of them is still very unlikely to be inducted. As far as Japanese inductees, I think the original Tiger Mask has a good shot due to him working MSG shows with the company in the early 80s. Tenryu is also a possibility due to his past working relationship with WWE. I'd like to see Giant Baba get the nod since Inoki has already been inducted.

If he's fine with the choice and he picked her, I see no issue there and no ground for whining. That being said, cue the whining in 3,2,1...

I heard (on this board actually) that Maria is a friend of Backlund, as odd as that sounds. She's obviously a fan as she wore a Bob Backlund shirt when she was in the crowd at SummerSlam last year.

yeah I originally frowned at the Menounos announcement, but after looking at the details of her freindship with Backlund, it's a fine choice

She talked about it on Kelly & Michael According to her wikipedia page, she produced a low-budget independent film when she was 17 and it featured Backlund. She's obviously a huge WWE fan and isn't ashamed to work with them. I think it's awesome that a host of red carpet award shows would be seen in public wearing a Bob Backlund t-shirt! Bob Backlund!

yeah I originally frowned at the Menounos announcement, but after looking at the details of her freindship with Backlund, it's a fine choice I never understood why she was a name they went to ("a host on EXTRA? Uh.....ok?") and who showed up here and there on WWE TV, but I apparently also never knew of her real life friendship with Mr. Backlund or her wrestling fandom. I gladly take back anything negative I may've ever thought about her randomly being associated with the WWE.

I think Muta is actually the most likely Japanese star. He was a big name in the NWA in the late 80's, reappeared during the Monday Night Wars, gets name-dropped on the site every few months and has appeared on a few DVDs.

Keiji Mutoh is likely on their list of future inductees, but until then I'd say Shohei Baba is the next best Japanese star they could induct despite being dead. Satoru Sayama, Jushin Thunder Liger, Bull Nakano, Tatsumi Fujinami, and Genichiro Tenryu would make the short list too. All have either worked for WWE at some point or influenced WWE superstars a great deal. That and WWE owns plenty of footage of them. But beyond that, there's no point in inducting Toshiaki Kawada, Jumbo Tsuruta, Kenta Kobashi, Riki Choshu, Akira Maeda, Masahiro Chono, Rikidozan, Shinya Hashimoto, Nobuhiko Takada, Atsushi Onita, or Mitsuharu Misawa. I don't think they'd ever get around to Ultimo Dragon or Yoshihiro Tajiri.
