Out of curiosity, do you know if anything's cut from the WMIII tape?

Out of curiosity, do you know if anything's cut from the WMIII tape? When the 15-minute intermission count down clock comes up, it cuts to the show returning after intermission. That's the only edit on the whole tape.

Oh wow. That would make it the most complete WM3 officially released, correct?
Are there any music edits on the set anywhere?

WM I is the same (nothing edited except the intermission clock). As far as I can remember, WM VIII, IX, XII, and 13 have absolutely nothing removed. Neither one of the two VHS box sets replace any music.

Yes, those are it. You got them used, correct? I got mine used off of Amazon last year, but luckily, the seller was selling all 13 tapes (only thing missing was the big box for all of them). As I said eariler, they weren't sold in stores and were sold together, not individually, when they were released (around Jan. 1998 or so).

Used to buy every wrestling tape I could get my hands on. It's the only time I've seen them myself, and I've never seen the full boxset other then magazines. Would love to get it cause of it being unedited, even tho I've got the 14 tape set and the DVD set

There are a few edits (on WM 2, Jesse tried to throw to a Hogan interview right after Hercules vs. Steamboat, and there were such bad technical problems that they just stopped playing the tape, moved to the next match, and played the interview afterwards; the whole botched first attempt at playing the interview is not on any home video release of the show), but overall, it's as close to the live versions as you will get with a commerical release.

Hey chrisc,
Do you know if the WM 13 set has the merchandise promos they used to do in the earlier 'Manias? My set is still in storage right now.
Thanks for all your info in this thread on these home video edits, BTW.

Is the "instant replay" debate on the Wrestlemania 7 tape in the box set? I know that's even cut on the WWE 24/7 airings.

The version of WM VII in the DVD box set of Mania 1-21 that WWE released in 2005 doesn't include it for some reason, and that's the version that gets aired on Classics On Demand.

I actually own Ground Zero, ONO, WrestleMania IV and 13 of those tapes. Might have Badd Blood too. Don't remember ![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51MCR5GV2RL._AA160_.jpg) ![](http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/513Z65D0K8L._AA160_.jpg) Are you sure the Manias weren't these from the WWF Home Video 1-14 box set? The WWF HV box set was sold in stores, and the tapes could be purchased individually. The eariler 1-13 set had to be ordered through the mail, and you could only buy the whole set of 13 tapes. Those tapes were absolutely god awful. Had to constantly adjust the tracking on them, and changing the play mode from SP to EP didn't help the problem either.

Both VHS box sets have every tape in EP/SLP mode. I get why they weren't in SP (WM 2-7 were too long), but they could have had them in LP mode at least as LP is enough for 240 mins.

I wonder if that's because it's not on the Coliseum Video release either, and they used that as the master. Do you think it was cut for time? Intellectual property (wasn't Steinbrenner a member of S.A.G. and this was at the start of the Ventura-royalties dispute? My memory of that particular timeline is foggy at best)?

Wasn't the CV release cut to shreds? Now I'm curious to see what's on the DVD.

The Anthology versions of the first 13 Manias were all based on the live PPVs, as all the matches are complete, all the backstage interviews from the live shows are included, and none of them have any of the Coliseum Video exclusive segments. No idea why it was cut. There's a lot of unneeded editing in the WrestleMania Anthology DVDs. Sometimes, instead of just muting "WWF" or censoring the letters, they'd just remove parts of promos or remove on-screen graphics entirely. On WM X, the editors decided to just remove the Yokozuna/Luger history package entirely rather than censor the "WWF" references.

Chrisc, serious question, have you ever thought of starting a blog/website/database for your wealth of knowledge on these topics?
Same goes for ToyFareMark. You both have such a vast memory and resources for these types of questions, not to mention are concise and enjoyable writers, that I bet if you started an Internet Wrestling Video Database, it would become pretty popular.

For the sake of having all the info together, here are all the edits I could find on the 1-13 Titan Sports box set.
I, III - Intermission clock is edited down to a few seconds.
2 - After Hercules vs. Steamboat, a botched attempt at airing Hogan's interview with Lord Alfred Hayes is removed.
IV - After WrestleMania merchandise ad, it cuts to Gorilla and Jesse welcoming back everyone after intermission.
V - At the start of the show, Rockin' Robin didn't begin singing when "America the Beautiful" started up. After a few seconds, they go to Gorilla and Jesse for an on-camera, then Howard Finkel apologizes for the "technical difficulties" and introduces Robin again. All of this is cut. Also, during Piper's Pit, when Brother Love has his kilt torn off, they show Piper watching BL run away instead of actually showing BL running away as they did on the live PPV. Gorilla and Jesse's comments while this was happening are removed.
VI - Once Gorilla announces intermission, it cuts to the show returning right after it. Jesse's remark during Hogan/Warrior about Richard Belzer is removed.
VII - Intermission clock is removed. Also, Mean Gene's first attempt at interviewing Donald Trump, Chuck Norris, Henry Winkler, and Lou Ferrigno before Earthquake vs. Valentine is cut since it was ruined by audio problems.
VIII - Intermission after the Savage post-match interview is cut.
IX, XII, 13 - No edits as far as I can tell.
X - Little Richard leaving the ring after his performance is shortened by a few seconds (why, I don't know). There's a cut after the Clinton impersonator is shown for the first time and after Vince and Lawler do an on-camera discussing what Mr. Perfect did during Yokozuna vs. Luger. Vince talking over the ring announcer after the Bret/Yokozuna video is cut. All of these edits are identical to the Coliseum Video release, but the TS version contains the ad for the 1994 King of the Ring before Bret vs. Yokozuna that is not on the Coliseum version.
XI - "Encore Plus" pay-per-view version. There's a lot stuff added, but as far removals/changes, the Sid/Shawn post-match interview is cut, the two Superstar Line plugs are different from the ones on the live PPV, and Diesel's interview with Todd Pettengill is missing the beginning where Todd had to get a new mic due to the first one not working.

I don't know if it counts as a "cut" per-say, but for XII, the box advertises the Godwinns-Body Donnas Tag Title Tournament Finals as well as the "Geriatric Match". Both didn't take place on the actual PPV but the pre-show "Free for All", and neither were on my copy of the tape.

The 1-14 box set from WWF Home Video did the same thing as the back of the box of the WM V tape has a picture of Roddy Piper and Morton Downey, Jr. from Piper's Pit, yet that entire segment was cut.

Do the tapes include some of the coliseum video exclusive stuff? For example, the coliseum video of WM4 includes a scene where heenan recieves a package (which turns out to be the dog training suit he wore in the six-man), but thats not on the Legacy vhs, is it on the 1997 video or the anthology set?
