Back to Green Day, how many graduations have used "Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)"....yeah, classy. It was my senior class song and our prom was built around it...

My high school used it for its annual junior ring ceremony, in which the 11th graders get their class rings and are officially recognized as upperclassmen. Still, using "Good Riddance" wasn't nearly as strange as the song they picked when I was a senior: "Dust in the Wind" by Kansas. Yeah, I can't explain it either.

Puff the Magic Dragon IS JUST A KIDS SONG ABOUT A DRAGON NAMED PUFF!!!!! Similarly, Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is about a drawing Lennon's son made about a girl in his class named Lucy, depicting her flying and surrounded with diamonds. Quite paradoxical when you consider the many other songs the Beatles admitted are about drugs.

That's what it's about. The band members would have been too young to be in a band in 1969.

One that always makes me chuckle is the misuse of "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith. Always a favorite at charity walks and baseball games (when the batter draws a free base).

That's what it's about. The band members would have been too young to be in a band in 1969. I think Bryan Adams just said it was about sex to sound "edgy". I dont see where you can get sex from "i got my first real six string/bought it at the five and dime" unless thats some Canadian double entendre ive never heard. Aside from maybe the last line (and he could be talking about a 1969 automobile) its pretty much squeaky clean.

must've been a really s***ty guitar if he got it for $5.10 uhh... "five-and-dime" is a name for a defunct type of store. All items were typically a nickel or a dime a piece. Woolworth's was the most famous five-and-dime store chain.
