People consider Howard Stern to be funny? Yeah myself, and a good two thirds of the rest of the people named on that list. And even the top comedians in the world have said that if Howard has so much material that if he was to just do a hour long stand ups instead of 15 hours of radio a week, that he'd be considered an elite stand up. Maybe it's because I actually watched Son of the Beach, but I don't see it.

I (maybe not others) would have liked to see Jeff Ross, and Anthony Jeselnik, but I guess that this list is mainly for A-Listers

Just my opinions...
- Marc Maron should be higher.
- He may be gone, but Mitch Hedberg is still heads and tails above most of these people.

'Son of The Beach' was just a 'Howard Stern Production', Tim Stack and others actually wrote and directed the show.

No Ralphie May?
David Letterman? Joan Rivers? Bill Maher?
Oh wait... this is Rolling Stone. Their opinions on comedy is just about as relevant as their opinions on music.

Kevin Hart funnier than Hannibal Buress and Patton Oswalt? C'mon son. Kevin Hart isn't bad, but I totally agree with you.

1. Louis CK is right where he should be. Although, if Patrice O'Neal were still alive, I'd say he and Louie would be clashing for that #1 spot.
2. Patton Oswalt is way too low.
3. No Chelsea Handler or Whitney Cummings. F*** yeah. Unfortunately, Mindy Kaling made it.

Gervais, Oswalt and Bamford should all be MUCH higher. Yeah, I completely overlooked Maria Bamford. She should definitely be way higher than they have her.

Joan Rivers hasn't been funny in decades and belongs nowhere near this list. I'd assume it was a token gesture for her former brilliance but that's odd considering the list is supposed to be funniest people "right now". Joan Rivers has had a bit of a resurgence the past couple of years between Fashion Police being revived on E! and the documentary about her called Joan Rivers: A Piece of Work being released a few years ago (Which is a pretty good film. Not a fan of Rivers, but I still think it's important to see just for the sake of comedy history). So whether or not you think her work is of high quality, she is going through another period in which she is in vogue. I either haven't heard of them, or don't find any of these people funny at all. Lena Dunham? Wasn't she the girl who equated voting (for a specific candidate) to sex? I think she compared voting for the first time (in an ad for said specific candidate) to losing her virginity. I don't watch Portlandia, but I find it kinda surreal that one of the ladies from Sleater-Kinney being in a list of 50 funniest people. Riot grrrl band musicians tend not to be known for their sense of humor.

Humm, not sure about the order and some of the people listed. Joan Rivers hasn't been that funny in years.

Tracy Morgan's presence on the list makes the whole thing null and void.

Eh,some I find funny(Colbert,Stewart,Murray). Some I don't find funny at all(Maher,Oswalt,Gervais). Comedy is so subjective though that no one is going to agree with them all. Overall,I have no issues with the list.

No list is gonna get it right but Jim Norton belongs on any list of funny people right now.
Bill Murray is great, Jerry Seinfeld's a legend, but I don't know what they're doing that makes them among the funniest people now.
