Thankfully, if so. Dating back to ECW, I've never liked Kofi. I've found him generic in terms of presence, annoying and flat-out sloppy in the ring. Not even sloppy in an exciting way, like Sabu could be in his heyday. Yet he's been pushed the hardest and the most consistently arguably out of any mid-card talent they have for years. Mid-card title reign after mid-card title reign, tag title reigns, flirting with the main event and getting to look good against them occasionally. And, most people are still apathetic to him. The closest he typically gets to a solid reaction for all the work they've put into him is he's little Boom, Boom, Boom thing. I seriously wonder how somebody else could've done if they had been given what Kofi's been given. apathetic does not mean likes him a little bit, but not a lot which is what most people feel, he is not sloppy at all, and sloppy is not exciting

Said it before but Kofi is a guy that's probably never gonna be a main eventer. He'll probably always be a solid mid-carder that can be relied for a good/fun match.
And there's nothing wrong with that.

Yeah that Kofi guy is such an asshole, right? I never said he was an asshole. I said he's had plenty of chances yet has never done anything memorable. All his title runs have sucked and other than the occasional spot, he's done absolutely nothing of note in his entire WWE career. Time to stop giving mid-card title runs and pushes to Kofi and try with someone different. Like Alex Riley who since the feud with Miz, hasn't been given a chance at all despite how over he is. Take Kofi's last title run, it was pointless... why not give that run to Riley to help get him over and give him some credibility?

He literally has not changed in years. His character is stale, and despite amazing pyro entrance and jumping and flying around, the crowd is completely dead when he walks down to the ring. Even the front line guys who are usually hyped as long as they can get within 10 feet of a wrestler are usually just standing there looking bored.
Turn him heel, give his gimmick a complete overhaul, that’s the only thing I think can salvage Kofi at this point.

Oh, hey, look, a different opinion. Cool opinion, bro. hey, if you're going to present yours as fact, so am I Except for, you know, the part where I said "I've found him", which is another way to say in my opinion. Unless you're talking solely about the crowd reactions bit of my post, which...I don't think is incorrect. You watch a Kofi match, especially recently, that doesn't have a piped in crowd, he rarely gets a reaction aside from his Boom, Boom, Boom. But considering you addressed another part of my opinion about him with your own and stated it as if it was fact, I don't think that's the only thing you're talking about. Hey, whatever, I get it, you disagree with my view. Different strokes for different folks.

I think they gave him the IC belt and a mini push to see if he would capitalize, and really we got the same Kofi, which is good but not great. He got some mic time and he didn't really deliver, just told us how rejuvenated and focused he was. His matches are solid and can be really good, but there's a lot of guys with more interesting styles and dynamic personalities. We've seen what we're going to see from Kofi in this carnation, he's got to change or he'll fade away. But that's the problem with Kofi's pushes. Yes, the guy won a midcard title several times but he never really gets a chance to do anything with it. Step 1: Kofi chases title Step 2: Kofi wins title Step 3: Kofi defends belt against random midcarders with no real purpose Step 4: Kofi loses title Step 5: Repeat steps 1 through 4

I think Kofi Kingston is the biggest victim of how WWE has booked midcard titles.
Frankly, I'm surprised he's still over with the audience. Since they haven't put him in a single significant story line (as in one that means something within the overall WWE) in a long time. They had a chance by making him one of the people who sided with HHH.
A lot of people blame Kofi for this. Much like Ziggler, Cody, Swagger, and even Christian, who's midcard title reigns weren't very exciting either, I don't. But creative needs to do something with him.
Plus, I remember Mark Henry getting this same trashing. Hell, even more back in the day. And look what happened when they REALLY gave him the ball. He hit it out of the park.

He's Koko B Ware, and no I don't mean a future Hall of Famer
He's a happy, smiling, black guy who fans cheer, wears bright colours and usually loses.

He just needs a new character. Like...ANYTHING. Even if he becomes a used car salesman or something. He's the same guy today than he was in 2008. Not even the slightest trace of evolution to his character.
He'll probably get to do a fancy spot in the Rumble tonight, at least.

I'm not a big Kofi fan so selfishly speaking I'm not bothered if he's not much of a presence on the show. Not sure why anyone would decry Kofi as if his spot being something that can be given to someone else because it really isn't much of a spot. He's been in a holding pattern for pretty much his entire stay in WWE.

Good He's not that good and has dozens of chances yet, despite his multiple title runs, has done nothing memorable. Make him a jobber and give someone else a chance as the go-to midcarder. Justin Gabriel or Alex Riley would be perfect to take the spot Kofi has been hogging. The argument "he's done nothing memorable" doesn't work for midcarders.

Just give him a Cool Runnings gimmick complete with Bobsled that he rides down the ramp to the ring. New boom period.
