If it turns into a triple-threat match with the inclusion of CM Punk? Cena still wins. Christ, Cena's lost the last 2 Mania main events. Punk has won for over a years worth of PPV's. That's true. And he shouldn't lose again. However the problem therein lies in selling it. No one wants to see Cena beat Rock. Last year's show was bought and sold on Rock coming back and destroying Cena. WWE desperately tried to make it 50/50, but in the end, regardless, Rock was still the favorite, and the crowd would have been righteously pissed if Rock didn't win. What's changed this year? Cena's the same stale tool he's always been. And Rock is no longer a novelty. What's the hard-sell for the match? I'm sure it'll do decently. But I doubt it'll do last year's numbers. Especially since people already got the result they wanted last year, and there's no real emotional hook to relive it.

Thats my point. Cena might just win a big match. So what? He's lost most of them the last 2 years. He's due. See, this is all just my own selfish opinion. I didn't buy WrestleMania tickets to see John Cena walk out of MetLife Stadium as the WWE Champion, so I think I'm just trying to talk myself into any way that Cena might not win because I really, really want to go to WrestleMania. Why not just go for the experience?

You all knew it was happening. Don't act like you didn't expect it.

I was unlikely to watch Mania 29 anyway based on the projected card for it, but now... Yeah, this will definitely be the first I miss since 19.

Which is why adding Punk would make it different, and if they do get less numbers than last year, they can shift the blame on Punk.

It's like if I were to go to the Super Bowl, but my New England Patriots were guaranteed to lose. Yeah, it'd be awesome to go to all the fan festivals and side events and activities, and it'd be an amazing in-person experience and event...but I'd still have that black cloud looming overhead, that when all is said and done, I'm walking out of that stadium around 11 p.m. pissed off because the end result was what I didn't want to happen. Cheap heat: on the plus side, now I don't have to spend three days in New Jersey.

And if Mania 15's main event was, say, Hogan/Michaels, would it have been as important to the history of wrestling? This. Exactly. Mania XV's Austin vs. Rock is what a Punk vs. Ziggler WM main event could have been.

I'm ready.
I'm ready for Cena to finally get the win over The Rock that he should have got last year.

So you're ready for tens of thousands of people to go home pissed after spending hundreds to thousands of dollars, followed by Cena doing the exact same thing he's been doing for the past eight years?

The announcers are going to treat Cena winning the title and overcoming the odds as some huge deal that should be celebrated and act like all is right with the world, and the NY crowd is going to completely shit all over it.
So, that will be fun at least.

So you're ready for tens of thousands of people to go home pissed after spending hundreds to thousands of dollars, followed by Cena doing the exact same thing he's been doing for the past eight years? That didn't stop WWE from having Cena win numerous matches during his 05-07 reign, did it? Booed at WM 22, WM 23, and Unforgiven 2006. He won all those matches. Just because the Attitude Era marks will be angry, shouldn't change anything. WWE never booked Hogan or Austin inferior to someone else, but they booked Cena (their top face) inferior to The Rock for some reason. John Cena should be booked strong, because he's the top face so when he's finally beaten it makes the person who beat him look really good. He's lost quite possibly the most loses of any top face the company has ever had. And he hasn't done much in the last year. He jobbed to Rock and Tensai, got his ass kicked by Brock Lesnar, lost to Punk in a draw, got pinned by Punk clean, lost to Ziggler, and had a feud with John Lauranitis. Tell me anytime Austin or Hogan had that kind of a year? It makes sense for WWE to want to finally book their top face strong again after having a very lukewarm year in 2012. And it'll probably be Cena's last big run, like Austin's in 2001. He'll look dominate as all hell, will hardly ever lose matches. Than he'll lose the WWE Championship to someone the WWE wants to push big (like Ryback.)

Why would you think it's Cena's last big run? They've given nothing to indicate that, and given his age, assuming he stays healthy ( which admittedly the workhorse he is, isn't written in stone), why would the presumption be that Cena's time in the sun is anywhere near a close from their POV?

Well, WWE has guys like Ryback and Sheamus who can carry the top spot for a while. Plus you got Rock and Lesnar around as well. Than there's Orton and CM Punk. Cena isn't the only draw they have anymore. I'm not saying he's going to leave, but I think it'll probably be the last time he'll be booked really strong for a long time.

Speaking as someone who's spent quite a bit of time in Boston and the surrounding area, always getting ragged on for being from Jersey...you guys really have no right to drop insults on us. I said when they first floated the rumors of doing Rock/Cena II for the title at 'Mania that it'd be the dumbest, most "everything is status quo!" move WWE could pull. Lo and behold. Guess they might find a way to mix it up a bit, but I don't think the NJ/NYC crowd is gonna be thrilled.
