As for this season, unless the last two episodes are bad IMO, the season will end with a positive good to bad ratio. Currently it is 6 good to 4 bad(I'm combining the Crystal Empire episodes). But that is still a much closer margin than the previous two seasons. So still the worst season for me. even if that were the case for me, it's still a better ratio than most of season 2.

You know... after letting all the supposed executive meddling sink in... It just feels like a lot of the magic of the show isn't there for me at the moment. I don't know if I could completely walk away like RC plans to, because once I'm set in a habit it's hard as hell for me to get out, but...It just doesn't feel the same anymore. This isn't aimed at you personally but just what you said brought this thought to my head. Say you were a fan of the show, without being apart of any online community. Let's say you just caught the show online and decided it was good and just watched the episodes. You didn't go to any messageboard, no news from ED. You looked at fanart and vids and pictures but didn't read any comments or stuff like that. Would you see Cadance or the upcoming finale as 'executive meddling' or just see it as things that happened in the show as it went on. The more and more of this I see, this is smacking an awful lot of the WWE section where people will often admit that their actual enjoyment of the show is being undermined by the negativity they encounter by being in an online community. Now I'm not saying that you can't have a critical opinion of something but if you constantly hear over-analysis on a topic and immerse yourself in that environment, you can easily lose sight of what it is that made you enjoy that thing in the first place. To answer this question, I'll have to explain my situation first. I have no ready access to cable or satellite TV so my only gateway to wrestling and pony is through the internet. As a consequence of that, plus a wandering clicking finger, it's hard for me to avoid things like forums, spoilers, plot synopses and all that. I try my hardest to maintain an open mind for things. I always try to look for silver linings in a situation, no matter how it ends up for me. Often, that leads to working around what gets served up, but that's OK. Hell, just a couple of days ago (admittedly through some illegal sources), I watched the first 2 hours or so of the Rumble and had a blast, only posting on the forum to acknowledge the Pony Rumble entrants. In regards to the Cadance thing, that never bothered me. The alicorn Twilight thing right now doesn't bother me. My gripes are with the implication that Faust was muscled out and had her ideas hijacked and the "killing off" of Derpy. That, because of one or two decisions made by guys in suits looking at charts in some office tower, what could have been great only ended up good. sometimes I just feel as if I'm the only one that doesn't think season 3 has been bad. I've enjoyed it too. My statement wasn't necessarily an indictment on the quality of the episodes. It was mostly lamentation over the symbolic meaning of the Derpy thing. That "our" pony was basically killed off the TV show for no reason.

That's a good point. I honestly don't know how much my opinion of Season 3 (which I still think was quite good) would've changed if I didn't know of the fallout between Hasbro and Faust. Then again, two of my favorite episodes were the Season 2 finale's. Executive meddling or not, I don't think it really mattered. I actually think Cadance works better as an alicorn than just a unicorn, too.

While it's perfectly clear Hasbro had issues with a lot of what Faust wanted, that had little to nothing to do with why she left the show. She said in her EQLA panel Hasbro greenlit 85% of her ideas, which she says is very good. She only left because she became overwhelmed having to do everything long-distance with her being in LA and DHX being in Vancouver.

So, they're really getting rid of Ditzy Doo/Derpy? God, I feel bad now. Especially since part of my RP as The Doctor explained the reason why she doesn't travel with The Doctor anymore. And the little bit that I added within one of the other threads. {Spoiler}If you recall, Ditzy and Dinky were sent back in time by a Weeping Pegasus statue to a fixed point in time that The Doctor wouldn't be able to see her ever again.
If you don't get the reference, see Doctor Who: The Angels Take Manhattan. AAAWWWZZZ oh and good stuff in the other place too ..... nice RHODES FAMILY REUNION too

Wait, what little report? It was a reddit article that mentioned plans to Alicorn Twilight as well to enforce that Derpy never appears on the show again Wait a sec...so something happens in S4 that is worse than Alicorn Twilight? Yea, this show may have to end completely after S4 is over. No need for Hasbro to further ruin it. And thank Celestia we have the comics.

I'm guessing Season 4 will end with a massive group hug that includes reformed Chrysalis and Sombra singing "Hooves Across Equestria". Because little girls aren't going to buy evil villain toys, after all.

And thank Celestia we have the comics. Yeah, this is my last bastion of hope. I know it'll create continuity problems, but I hope Alicorn Twilight never rears her head in there.
