The only notable one who spurned this situation was an individual by the name of Yamino

Alicorn had a meaning besides winged unicorn? Actually Alicorn is what the horn of a unicorn is called. Alicorn only means a unicorn pegasus in the MLP fandom. Even then it took til season 3 for it to be mentioned in-show (Alicorn Amulet in Season 3). Until then it was mostly a fanon term. FSin wrote about the whole Derpy situation pretty well sometime last year on the FAN site. Bronies blew up the whole situation into the kerfuffle it was as they are wont to do. Which is sad as Derpy's appearance and lines in Last Roundup was intended as a "thank you" to the brony crowd for their support. And for her part, Amy Keating Rogers has a special needs child and she NEVER intended to make fun of the mentally disabled. She was very upset that Derpy was viewed in this way.

Derpy is dead, but people like Patrick and Peter gets to keep living. It's not fair...

You know... after letting all the supposed executive meddling sink in... It just feels like a lot of the magic of the show isn't there for me at the moment. I don't know if I could completely walk away like RC plans to, because once I'm set in a habit it's hard as hell for me to get out, but...It just doesn't feel the same anymore.

I'll still watch because even when there's a meh episode it's usually still much better than anything else at that time. Especially now that CN is apparently canceling Young Justice ( ). But this season, while still enjoyable, lacks a lot of the same charm as seasons 1 and 2. The episode quality is about the same, but it just lacks that little extra spark to make it special. The only episodes I felt like that had it were Magic Duel and Sleepless in Ponyville, both of which rank among my favorite episodes in the series.

This isn't aimed at you personally but just what you said brought this thought to my head. Say you were a fan of the show, without being apart of any online community. Let's say you just caught the show online and decided it was good and just watched the episodes. You didn't go to any messageboard, no news from ED. You looked at fanart and vids and pictures but didn't read any comments or stuff like that. Would you see Cadance or the upcoming finale as 'executive meddling' or just see it as things that happened in the show as it went on. The more and more of this I see, this is smacking an awful lot of the WWE section where people will often admit that their actual enjoyment of the show is being undermined by the negativity they encounter by being in an online community. Now I'm not saying that you can't have a critical opinion of something but if you constantly hear over-analysis on a topic and immerse yourself in that environment, you can easily lose sight of what it is that made you enjoy that thing in the first place.

sometimes I just feel as if I'm the only one that doesn't think season 3 has been bad.

I've enjoyed it. I do think there's issues, but nowhere as bad as the latter of season 2

Actually, yes, yes I would. Remember one of the reasons I initially hated Shining Armor was he was Twilight's brother. I still would've had that initial reaction to him and my reaction to Alicorn Twilight would honestly be WORSE.

As for this season, unless the last two episodes are bad IMO, the season will end with a positive good to bad ratio. Currently it is 6 good to 4 bad(I'm combining the Crystal Empire episodes).
But that is still a much closer margin than the previous two seasons. So still the worst season for me.

I loled, sorry It is funny because it is true. At the very least I hope this kills whatever delusions the fanbase had of Hasbro/The Hub trying to appeal to them.

So, they're really getting rid of Ditzy Doo/Derpy? God, I feel bad now. Especially since part of my RP as The Doctor explained the reason why she doesn't travel with The Doctor anymore. And the little bit that I added within one of the other threads. {Spoiler}If you recall, Ditzy and Dinky were sent back in time by a Weeping Pegasus statue to a fixed point in time that The Doctor wouldn't be able to see her ever again.
If you don't get the reference, see Doctor Who: The Angels Take Manhattan.
