I stopped collecting figures around 2000 or so, but one of the things I really got into in the last year or so since discovering they were out there is the new/current MOTUC figure line from Mattel. It's a pretty neat line, re-imagining the old figures with modern poseability and sculpts, and the inclusion of a lot of characters from tie-in lines like She-Ra, the New Advetures stuff, the 2000s cartoon, old Filmation cartoon, etc. that the original line never got around to. www.pictureshack.us/images/11729_CK-MOTUC-_11-21-12.jpg

Sadly, I can't say I collect them. I have several, don't get me wrong, and I'd love to really buy up all the rest that I want so badly...along with the upcoming Castle Greyskull, but sadly they are just so expensive! Throw on the shipping and handling, and dang ebay unfair prices, and they're insane!
I adore these figures though! The sculps are perfect updates, and the vast improvement of mobility is very welcome (especially love that they did away with the original rubber bands in the legs...can't tell you how many figures I lost due to the rubber simply wearing out over time).
I seriously enjoy the alternate heads, weapons, and equipment they've given each figure, as well as releasing figures we've never had...or even seen before! Guys like Horde Prime, Granamyr, and even the brand new guys like Draego Man are just awesome!
Figures I'd love to get include: Fisto, Ram Man, Kobra Kahn, Sorceress, Rattlor, The Snake Men Two Pack, and Granamyr. I think I'd cry if someone bought a Castle Greyskull for me. Again though, I wish the prices would come down.

Oh, my heart and wallet cry out. Those toys look so cool, but given my OCD, I'd need to get most if not all and financially, that ain't happening.

These look really cool but I long for the original ones. I still have a bunch of them but, sadly, many were covered in slime and are now stained.

I resisted jumping in after learning about them for almost a full year. Had some money on the side that, once a lot of important stuff got done with it, I thought "y'know, for the first time in a while, I'm gonna do something nice for myself" and went in gung-ho. Out of the whole collection, I'm only missing about 9 of them now, and most of those are the uber-high dollar ones (Sorceress, Fisto, Shadow Weaver, Teela). Just absolutely fascinated by them. I love the way they've incorporated the various continuities (original toyline mini-comics, the various cartoons, even the live-action movie) into one cohesive story that actually (mostly) works. Been dealing with some pretty serious situations the last couple of years - a major reason why I haven't been around as much - but these are a nice little diversion for me during it all.

I've been avoiding collecting this line but man has it been difficult. So many obscure character getting figures that I want so badly. I nearly broke down for that Count Marzo figure.
I'm hoping to see a Lizard Man or Crita figure soon. Maybe Blackstar (I wonder how the rights to him would work?).

Blackstar, from my understanding, is too tied up with other companies for them to even think about, and with the line on the brink of getting ready to call it a day in the next couple of years, they aren't really wanting to spend money to deal with it. Heh, while I was typing this, I got a notification my Fang Man has shipped. Awesome. Been wanting a figure of him since 1985.

I hesitate to call anything by Mattel "modern" sometimes, but that said, these are pretty cool. If I grew up with the show, I'm sure I'd want these, and some of these are pretty kickass. That said, I really don't need another collection, given all of the gundam stuff I have and my dabbling in GI Joe.

I think I will pick up He-Man and She-Ra on DVD first, then we will see about the toys. Gotta graduate college first, get a cushy job, then save my pennies for the toys. Just such a shame to be missing so many, which means I will be as poor as a church mouse before I get most of them.

I've never seen them sanely priced - only store nearby had them going for like $40-50 a pop. But I admire Mattel (who's f'd with the property a bit over the years) for continuing to produce this line of figures. I just need to find that Four Horsemen Mosquitor statuette from about 10 years back, perhaps that Roboto updated figure from the 2002 line, and a Frank Langella Skeletor to make me a happy MOTU fan.

Nothing I've heard, but I hear very, very little. Outside of what's been announced, the only ones I'm aware of being absolutely on the table in the near future are Lizard Man, Seahawk, Scorpia and maybe Lord Masque.

Stupid question: are any of the old mini comics or stuff outside of the TV series being reprinted? I'm very curious and would like to kind of get into this. I know Im at the edge of a long fall into a deep canyon, but I might try and pick some of these up, at least classics that are not too expensive.
Oh, Lord help me.

And of course, I'd start getting at least interested as they get ready to ring the curtain down and I'll end up selling blood to get the figures. Not a good idea when you are diabetic by the way. Anyway, I know the figures are primarily available through MattyCollector.com, but does that mean they are not on shelves at all? Honestly, I have never bothered to look, so I ask.
I fear I am getting myself in a great deal of trouble here.

They tried a few years ago to package some of them with DC figures in crossover line that was ToysRUs exclusive, but it bombed. On the mini-comics, they don't come with reprints of the old ones, but there's about 4 or 5 new mini-comics that have been put out that come with select figures.

So, if they are online exclusives, then that means I have to ebay... Oh God, hold me. I'm scared.
