I've always thought that the main event should have been Cena vs. Edge. When Edge cashed in MITB on Cena in January, not only did he instantly become the biggest heel in the company, but Raw's ratings saw an immediate upswing in the weeks that followed. More importantly, the heat that Cena had been getting in the latter half of 2005 had all but disappeared, because he'd finally made to look vulnerable. I'm convinced that if they'd capitalized on this and had Cena chase Edge for the title into Mania, it would have been money.
Cena vs. HHH was a big deal because it was their first match, but the build was too short and too much of an afterthought for my tastes. It could have been saved for a later date.

See now, that would've had the dramatic weight to lift the show above hodgepodge. Rey vs Angle, putting Orton in a real match with Shawn or I dunno anything but a triple threat, would've also been helped the show significantly, I think.

I liked 22, pretty intimate. It had Edge/Foley, HBK/Vince and Trish/Mickie. Trish and Mickie got really intimate.

Yeah, Orton really didn't have any business being in that match. The build to that one was garbage too, and they really undermined Rey's title reign with the "Eddiesploitation" crap. I'm convinced people would have better accepted of him as champion had he been portrayed as having done it on his own terms.

Did people complain about Candice Michelle the way they complain about Kelly Kelly? Because CM is way more force pushed and way less a wrestler than K2.

If Taker/Henry hadn't have happened, then WM28 would've been the 8th straight 'Mania where 'Taker had the best match.
Yes, I consider WM21 vs Orton to be one of the finest streak matches. I won't lie, it's the last time I could truly convince myself that the streak was in jeopardy. Aside, of course, from the SCM/Pedigree spot from WM28.

I found it to be a great Wrestlemania. I liked it more then 20, 21, or 23. Plus they did a good job hyping up the event and the WWE Championship match something they didn't do with 23. Plus there was so many wacky props as someone mentioned that made it memorable like CM Punk's debut as a gangster!!!

Cena: I do, and you're great, but I'm still going to beat you. I kind of liked the 23 build with everyone basically saying that Shawn would turn on Cena and it seemingly not happening... until the Raw before the PPV when he superkicked him.

IMO the 3 worst Wrestlmania all took place in Chicago. The only one I can agree with you on is Wrestlemania 2. Yes, 13 was bad but that still had Austin vs. Hart. Wrestlemania 22 was hardly the worst one. It could have been better but it was still a decent show. The worst Wrestlemania took place in Hartford, Connecticut.

But I'd put Michaels/Diesel on a higher level than anything on 22, LT/Bam Bam also felt bigger than anything on 22 to me. They didn't do a good job making me think any of this was that big a deal.

But it felt like Triple H was going to win the title for the first time in a year and it felt like he might be turning face. Plus it was more personal then anything what Cena and HBK was.

My problem with it is that for me it takes someone to make me care about HHH and it takes someone to make me care about Cena. So together all I feel is apathy.

Yep, pretty much the same build as HHH vs. Booker T from WM19 ("you're a joke and have no business being champion," "yeah that's true"), but without the racial overtones. It was really stupid and didn't have anything close to resembling the heat of the Cena/Edge feud.

IMO the 3 worst Wrestlmania all took place in Chicago. There were a couple of WMs that I would rate lower, but the Chicago 3 definitely rank low with me IMO. And what's worse is that they will NEVER get another Wrestlemania because of the lack of retractable roof stadium that seats 60,000+. Soldier Field would be a horrible location due to inclement weather in late March/early April. And YES I know they're doing a show outdoors in NJ in a couple of weeks, but midwest weather in the early spring is way more inconsistent to be trusted.

I've been pretty open about my opinions on Angle's work. He has the same 'big' match, every time. I don't claim to know anything about wrestling or how it works, other than as a follower, and with that, I can say that 'play dead/sudden comeback, play dead/sudden comeback' does not engage me all that greatly as a viewer.

Peter Gabriel did the theme song, Big Time, so it was great.

22, IMO, was a good show.
Granted, there was the Boogeyman garbage and that godawful pillow match (made worse since Jerry Lawler did commentary), but it was entetaining.
Still believe the WHC match should've gotten more time (and its video graphic), but what are you gonna do.
