BJ Whitmer wrote on his Twitter that he met with his doctor to get his MRI results and didn't "like" what he was told and would be seeking a second opinion.

Whitmer suffered a herniated disc taking a piledriver on the apron during a ROH event in Toronto earlier this month.

Not looking forward to the racist chants from the NYC fans, but otherwise C&C vs Adreneline Rush should be great!

Stoked about Taven-Mondo as well, should play to each others' strengths pretty perfectly.

Really feel for BJ with that particular wording.

That way that report was worded makes me feel like BJ is gonna have to retire.

I highly recommend that everybody go out of their way to see the 6 Man Tag on the last episode of TV. One of the better matches I've seen this year.

Whenever a black tag-team performs at a New York ROH show, the fans begins chanting the names of black tag teams from the past, often times these are teams that resemble the wrestlers performing in absolutely no way whatsoever.

It's bothersome, not entirely unlike how they'll still chant "FAG-GOT" in 2013. Not a fan.

WHITMER UPDATE, ROH STAR RETURNING THIS SATURDAY AND MORE MANHATTAN MAYHEM NEWS

The final diagnosis on BJ Whitmer was that he suffered a bruised spinal cord, which is pretty serious. He's also been diagnosed with spinal stenosis, which is the condition that ended the career of Adam Copeland. Whitmer will be getting additional medical examinations in the upcoming weeks. There's no set schedule for his return.

Here's the latest Ring of Honor "Honor Roll" leading into Saturday's Manhattan Mayhem V card at the Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC:

Mike Mondo, who had taken time off to allow himself to heal from issues that came from his ankle surgery, will officially return to the ROH roster this Saturday, facing TV champ Matt Taven in a non-title Proving Ground match. He's been working his leg out on the independents, most notably NYWC in Long Island.

Prince Nana will be doing commentary this weekend. There's talk of a big Nana angle.

Ring of Honor will return to the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City this Saturday 8/17 with "Manhattan Mayhem" featuring:

*ROH Tag Team champions The American Wolves (Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards) vs. reDragon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O'Reilly)

*In a first time ever meeting, The Young Bucks (Matt & Nick Jackson) vs. The Forever Hooligans (Rocky Romero & Alex Koslov)

*ROH championship Tournament Quarter Final: Karl Anderson vs. Michael Elgin

*ROH World championship Tournament Quarter Final: Roderick Strong vs. Kevin Steen

- "The Sicilian Psychopath" Tommaso Ciampa is ready for NYC THIS Saturday. It has been one year since Ciampa's knee injury that kept him out of action for 9 months and Ciampa is now ready to prove that he belongs at the very top of Ring of Honor.

- With all of the speculation regarding Prince Nana it has officially been announced that he will be on commentary with Kevin Kelly THIS Saturday. When reached for comment Nana said that he will indeed be on commentary but there is much more that will happen this Saturday due to his influence. "Surprises are fun my friend!" exclaimed Nana. "I can't wait for New York... I can't wait to call the matches... and I can't wait to see my friends! Oh... let me clarify, my friends who are not on the current ROH roster haha!"

- BJ Whitmer recently went for an MRI and afterward tweeted "Didn't really like what I had to hear today. Going to get a second opinion." We will have updates on BJ Whitmer's condition as soon as it is disclosed.

- Check out words from Veda Scott regarding her recent injury at the hands of MsChif. Obviously, RD Evans seemed to have some kind of agenda based off of the recent confrontation with Veda. Speaking of The Barrister, both RD Evans and QT Marshall, now known as "Marshall Law", will be in NYC THIS Saturday to address the tag team division.

- Also... all of the fans in attendance this Saturday in NYC will be the FIRST to get an opportunity to purchase tickets for "Final Battle 2013"! Our last event of 2013 will take place on Saturday night, December 14th in The Hammerstein Ballroom and the ROH faithful in NYC will have the first shot at the best seats in the house!

- Raymond Rowe returns to ROH in Chattanooga on September 6th and Birmingham, Alabama on September 7th. Rowe impressed ROH officials recently at "Honor In The Heart Of Texas" and he will have another opportunity to prove that he belongs in ROH.

- In addition, for the first time since he stepped inside Scramble Cage Melee way back in 2004, Luke Hawx will return to ROH on September 6th in Chattanooga and will also compete the next day in Birmingham. Hawx is a near 14 year veteran who has competed all over the scene and looks to be successful when he steps into an ROH ring for the first time in nine years!

- The windup on September 7th in Birmingham, Alabama will feature the return of the Ringmaster's Challenge when Roderick Strong faces Adam Cole! It's the ultimate test of heart, conditioning, and skill with the 1st fall determined by Pinfall, the 2nd fall is Submission only and the 3rd Fall (if necessary) will be a 15 Minute Iron Man Match! There is definitely tension between Strong and Cole and these elite athletes will have an opportunity to prove who is better in 2 out of 3 falls. DBD XI Weekend Just got Even More Exciting...



On Friday September 20th & Saturday the 21st, Ring of Honor Wrestling comes home to Philadelphia for the first time since “Homecoming 2012” with “Death Before Dishonor XI” weekend! ROH's return to the National Guard Armory will be highlighted by a specific mission in the crowning of a new ROH World Champion with both the semi-finals and finals of the tournament will take place on Friday night. Adam Cole has already earned his way to the semi-finals and the other three competitors will be determined this weekend in NYC at “Manhattan Mayhem V”.

With that said, ROH officials are extremely excited to announce that we have finalized a deal with one of the most experienced international competitors out there, a man who has competed under the ROH banner just one time back in 2007, none other than the former GHC Jr. Heavyweight and former 3-Time GHC Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, Ricky Marvin!

Marvin, whose sole ROH action came at the “Live in Tokyo” event as part of a 6-Man tag against Naomichi Marufuji & The Briscoes with Atsushi Aoki & Matt Sydal as his partners, has been competing around the world since 1995. During that time he has amassed championships in NOAH, in CMLL, and under the NWA banner, just to name a few and has globally competed against the best of the best. Most recently, Marvin is coming off of the Pro Wrestling NOAH G+ Cup Jr. Heavyweight Tag League (the same tournament in which Roderick Strong was involved) where he teamed with Super Crazy and the pair made it to the finals of their block.

Now Marvin will bring his near two decades of experience to the ROH ring on September 20th & 21st for “Death Before Dishonor XI” weekend in Philadelphia! Who will his opponents be on those evenings?
