MICHAEL ELGIN-US RETURN UPDATE

Michael Elgin, former ROH World Champion, has been stranded in his native Canada due to not having updated documents that will allow him to return to the United States.

In an update to that situation, Greg Davis sent this item.

AAW out of Chicago announced yesterday that Michael Elgin would be returning on their October 17 show. Not sure if that means he’s back in the US today, or will be in a few weeks. Hopefully it’s not a case of AAW announcing it, and then hoping he can make it.

yet for some inexplicable reason, the great Papa Bear has never received a title shot for the ROH World Championship. this has to be a scheme by the suits at Sinclair because they know that if Evans were to win the title, no one would ever beat him and he would be the champion until the end of time

CHAMPIONS VS ALL STARS is shaping up to be another can't-miss night of ROH action! On October 11 in Kalamazoo, ALL the champions in Ring of Honor will team up to face four of the ROH's biggest stars. This giant eight man tag match is the epitome of what ROH is all about. But we're bringing you a whole lot more, Kalamazoo!

"The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian have definitely shaken up the tag team scene in Ring of Honor! Now known as "The Addiction," they've been taking on any and all teams ROH has for them. But they've yet to step into the ring for singles competition. That changes in Kalamazoo! On October 11th, "The Addiction" are slated for one-on-one matches!

Although his most recent tenure in ROH has just begun, Christopher Daniels is one of the Ring of Honor originals. In fact, he main evented the very first ROH event over a decade ago. His past will always be synonymous with ROH - and now he's back to shape the future!

But you can't talk about "future" without mentioning Cedric Alexander. Recently, Cedric has been taking on all the top stars of ROH like Adam Cole, Jay Lethal, and more. Win or lose, he's stealing shows every night and showing the world why he is the future of professional wrestling. Cedric Alexander has earned the respect of his peers and his fans through hard work, dedication - and undeniable natural talent.

Now in Kalamazoo, an ROH original takes on one of the hottest new ROH stars: "THE FALLEN ANGEL" CHRISTOPHER DANIELS VS. CEDRIC ALEXANDER! - Frankie Kazarian vs. Jimmy Jacobs

And on the very same night that Christopher Daniels battles Cedric Alexander, the other half of The Addiction will also be in singles competition. But Frankie Kazarian will have his hands full with a very different sort of ROH star: JIMMY JACOBS!

Since the moment The Addiction stepped into ROH, Jacobs and The Decade have taken issue with them. The Decade believes that for far too long, athletes have abandoned ROH when new opportunities came along. They always come running back... and ROH is far too forgiving of their "betrayal." The Addiction's very first ROH match was a World Tag Team Title shot against reDRagon, an opportunity Jimmy Jacobs did not think they deserved. Obviously, The Decade - especially Jimmy Jacobs - have a huge problem with the attention and accolades heaped on Daniels and Kazarian.

After interfering in The Addiction's tag matches and vocalizing his grievances to anyone and everyone, Jimmy Jacobs gets his chance to put up or shut up in Kalamazoo! In recent weeks, it seems like arguments within the ranks of The Decade has plagued Jacobs. But this is an opportunity for him to make an example out of Frankie Kazarian. Meanwhile Kazarian is out to prove he's here to stay - and here to dominate ROH as a team AND on his own!

THE KINGDOM SHOCKS THE WORLD

{Spoiler}Adam Cole, Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis shocked the world this past Saturday night in Wheeling, West Virginia. They did this by delivering “Matt’s return”, as promised. While all indications were that “The Icon” Matt Hardy was returning to ROH, it in fact turned out to be a completely different Matt.

The Matt who returned was a former Ring of Honor Television Champion. He was a former member of The House of Truth and was last seen in ROH in Brooklyn, New York at Field of Honor. Matt Taven surprised Ring of Honor fans and wrestlers alike and returned as a member of The Kingdom!

ROH officials hadn’t heard from Matt Taven since he announced on social media that he was leaving the company. We were clearly duped. The Kingdom painted a specific picture and went in a completely different direction. Not only were we the victims of their mind games, but the ROH roster was also stunned.

“No matter how smart the fans think they are, they will never understand how truly clueless they are” Said Taven as he was leaving the building this past Saturday. “ROH fans thought they saw the best of me, again you are fools. I am just getting started”

Bennett has revealed that he and Taven have been friends for a very long time, “We’ve known each other since Matt started up in New England”. “As the Kingdom was being formed, we kept a close eye on him. This year he seemed almost lost at times”. “He was trying too hard to keep the fans happy and everyone knows that’s a losing proposition”.”

Cole chimed in and stated “The fans don’t care about me, Mike, Maria or anyone! We watched him, watched as his potential was being wasted and how 2014 was not looking so good. He needed guidance and Mike and I sat down with Maria and we decided he was a natural fit. He just needed to be around the best there is, and that’s when we had Maria reach out.”

“Mike and Adam asked me to contact him Matt after his cage match in Brooklyn with Jay Lethal” added Maria. “Matt needed a home; he needed to be around people who have his best interests in mind. Obviously it wasn’t the fans or even the people he could call friends! Only The Kingdom could provide Matt with the real love and guidance he needs”.

Whatever Maria said, it must have worked. Her charms are obvious and ability to manipulate appear to be second to none. She is a shrewd negotiator and whether it was money, success, guidance or just the camaraderie, Taven accepted and is now part of a group poised to control Ring of Honor.

Adam Cole, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett & Maria Kanellis now comprise a group that has pretty much every tool needed to become the most dominant force in Ring of Honor history. None of these individuals are strangers to titles and every champion is now on notice. Can The Kingdom be stopped?

Jay Lethal vs ACH - 10/25 in Lakeland, Florida



Bad news for The House of Truth! Due to a series of unfortunate events, Jay Lethal did not have to defend his TV Title against ACH at ALL STAR EXTRAVAGANZA as scheduled. While Lethal and Truth Martini no doubt thought they'd managed to rid themselves of ACH forever, we can now confirm that ACH vs. Lethal WILL happen - and it's coming to Lakeland, FL!

In Philadelphia, Jay Lethal defended his title against ACH in a match some have called the best in the history of ROH TV! Unfortunately for ACH (and fortunately for the House of Truth), the bout had an announced 30 minute time limit - which expired before a winner was determined.

The time limit draw sounded after Truth Martini had been ejected from ringside due to interference and even after Lethal himself considered taking his belt and running home. But through it all, ACH kept fighting and the rabid fans kept cheering him on. Had he gotten just a few more minutes, would he be champion today?

Lethal and ACH already had an established history with each other. A little over a year ago, the two squared off in San Antonio at HONOR IN THE HEART OF TEXAS. Not only was this a glimpse into the future between these two athletes, many point to this match as ACH's "breakout" moment in Ring of Honor. From there, his career has taken off. And that path led him to Philadelphia, where he very nearly captured his first title in ROH.

Even more recently during DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR weekend, ACH PINNED Jay Lethal to win a Six Man Mayhem match. He finally got the victory that slipped through his fingers in Philadelphia. The title wasn't on the line this time around. But now Jay Lethal knows for sure...ACH can beat him.

Just as fans demanded "five more minutes," Nigel McGuinness looked into the TV title draw and made a decision. This match was so spectacular and so competitive that is deserves a rematch. But this time, there will be no draw. On October 25th, there will be NO TIME LIMIT.

And week in Kalamazoo, these two athletes will face each other during the gigantic CHAMPIONS VS ALL STARS eight man tag. Lethal and Truth will undoubtedly be looking to weaken ACH before the title match in Florida. Meanwhile, ACH knows now he has another huge opportunity waiting for him the horizon - and he's always fueled by motivation!

It finally happens on October 25th: LETHAL VS ACH: NO TIME LIMIT. This rivalry has been building for months. The House of Truth thought they dodged a bullet and it seems like Jay Lethal grow more vicious and aggressive every day. With no time limit, anything can happen in Lakeland - and the intensity is going to be off the charts!

I finally got around to watching ROH from last weekend (on Atlanta station). There was a horrible aspect ratio problem where the footage appeared to have been shot in 1.77:1 (screen), yet it had been displayed in 1.33:1 (full screen). This meant that the image looked squished. There was no real way to fix it on my end by adjusting the TV's aspect ratio mode. I don't mind watching ROH in the 1.33:1, but this taking a wider image and essentially squishing it to fit a more narrow frame.

This comes after last week when the show was not broadcast.

Week one in Atlanta went great and it was a great show. I hate to see them having these problems. I don't know who is to fault for this, but it's troubling that ROH is owned by a broadcasting company and these problems are occurring.

My ROH randomly switched affiliates on me, I was unaware and tried recording it at the regular time just to get TMZ, Burn Notice and other stuff. I checked the menu and it's on ABC instead of Fox now, then next week, it's listed on both affiliates so I don't know what to record. Both, I guess. Heh. I wish it'd stay on ABC, though. Less chance of sports knocking it to who knows what hour, I think.

Elgin initially denied that he was back in the States when this was originally reported, but I had read somewhere today (can't remember where) that Elgin said that mail had come through, and he was going to start the 13 hour drive back to St. Louis.

If it's true I'm really happy for Elgin, the incident could've derailed his career. He seems to be poking fun at the situation tweeting that he's quitting wrestling to try bodybuilding he also posted a design for a t shirt wih a skull on top of a baseball.

I'm curious to see how he gets booked, like I think there's gonna be animosity by both parts more so on Elgin's side.

Caprice Coleman vs. Jay Lethal from the most recent show is a much watch IMO. I'm ready for Caprice to become the newest sensation in ROH, his music rules, he's got a great look and great moves. Jay Lethal selling the one inch heart punch was so awesome, they have really good chemistry together.

That promo where he read a statement apologizing for attacking Bobby Cruise, blaming his addictions and sociopathic tendencies was awesome. I think roh should push him to the moon, I don't think he's sticking on the indies for much longer.

That's what I'm hoping. I think they'll push him and i hope they do so heavily, but i don't think they'd put the title on him. I'm hoping we see him and Cole in the next year.
