Before I reveal the results, I would like to announce that we had two guest judges for this Round. Usually, I want at least five judges to work a Round but one judge was quite busy from what I understand and I asked two individuals to fill in. I wanted to get at least one set of scores from them but they surprised me by both accepting judging responsibilities. If necessary, I will use them for the Sing-Off and Future Rounds. They are...
Demented, the FAN Prince of Crime!!!
and
Mr. Snoogins himself, Spiderfab4!!!
Six Contestants were gathered inside a safe room located behind a trick wall in KingOrangeTyger's office (the entrance of which can be located by deftly adjusting "The Death of WCW" located among the many books in his library), surrounded by a cadre of FAN Bodyguards. On the lookout for whatever nefarious plans hatched by Demented's diseased mind, the Host seemed rather distracted, his attention centering predominantly on WWE Superstars The Wyatt Family, who are evidently the guest Hosts for the next Elimination Round. Flanked by his enormous "children", the glassy eyed Erick Rowan and the sick grinning Luke Harper, WWE's Bray Wyatt sat stock still in his rocking chair, gazing out into space. Something was not quite right.
KingOrangeTyger looked at the ornate cube in his hand (or paw). It seemed to quiver ever so slightly, as if a thing alive was inside of it. No matter what he did to the cube, it would not reveal its secrets. With their strange guests looking on, KingOrangeTyger decided to continue the Round, trying to put Demented's gambit in the back of his head. He still didn't understand why Mr. Wyatt arrived so early, days before the scheduled Elimination Round but he was not one to question WWE's convoluted scheduling. These strangers, who now began to chant quietly, would have to be dealt with at the proper time. Every time that looked into Bray Wyatt's eyes, however, he saw a strange, if familiar, spark.
The Judges returned from yet another hidden chamber, handing out small wooded boxes to each contestant. Stinger4Christ's box had an ornate scorpion on its lid, while Anonymous GM's had a black and white mask on its side. Each box contained the results for each individual would-be Fan Idol. Among the judges was a new figure with a spider Death mask and a cloak made out of webbing who handed the Host a list with a nod. The Wyatt family remained silent, Rowan putting on his lamb mask and Bray Wyatt rocking slowing back and forth in his chair.
KingOrangeTyger: Contestants. Round 27 presented you with a most difficult task: randomly receiving a box containing three artists chosen by one of your fellow contestants, you had to select three songs, two from a list of artists contained in that box and one of your own choice. What gems did you unearth? What wonderful music did you stumble upon? I shall tell you shortly.
fw91, you received a box compiled by Roxie Daggers that contained a list of artists that consisted of Billy Joel, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Creedence Clearwater Revival. Choosing alternative rock vanguards Bush for your free pick, how did you do this Round. Please open your box...
{Spoiler}{Spoiler}
Congratulations fw91, you received an unbelievable 193 points and first place!!! You amazed the judges with Billy Joel's seminal working man's anthem Piano Man, Creedence Clearwater Revival's Vietnam War hymn Fortunate Son, and Bush's incendiary alt mega hit Glycerine!!! Fantastic job!
Knalsic loves to Boogie, Anonymous Gm weaved her magic and provided you with a box that held Arctic Monkeys, Prince, and Vampire Weekend. You decided to call an audible and switch in legendary Canadian Progressive rock band Rush for your free pick. What fate lies before you? Take off the lid...
{Spoiler}{Spoiler}
You made your way safely into the Top 3, in third place with 176 points!!! You made the judges' hearts flutter a bit with some help from the Purple One with Prince's Kiss, introduced them to a lovely new friend with the sanguinary Diane Young as recorded by Vampire Weekend, and took to the sky with Rush's early rock tinged hit, Fly By Night!!!
Stinger4Christ, fw91 had a few tricks up his sleeve and threw you a chain up with a box brimming with Nirvana, AC/DC, and Pearl Jam. Confident with using all three of his chosen artists, were you able hit it out of the park this Round. Let's see what lies beneath...
{Spoiler}{Spoiler}
Stop shaking the box, you've been given second place!!! Taking home 188 colossal points, you found favor with the judges with Nirvana's haunting cover of Ledbelly's blues lament Where Did you Sleep Last Night, Pearl Jam's grunge masterpiece Even Flow and Aussie Rock Powerhouses AC/DC's It's a Long Way to the Top!!!
Anonymous GM. Roxie Daggers. Sloth Spartan. Please open your boxes and look inside. One of you will move on now, earning 159 points, just one single point separating you from fifth place. Anonymous GM opened her box to find MGMT, Run DMC, and Neil Young provided to her by Sloth Spartan, opting to use American New Wave pioneers the Cars as her free artist. Roxie Daggers had to contended with Knalisic Loves to Boogie's trio of icons, Queen, Bob Dylan, and Talking Heads, bringing to the competition the American Rock institution known as the Eagles. Finally, Sloth Spartan made due with Stinger4Christ's wide ranging threesome of George Jones, They Might Be Giants, and Paul McCartney and Wings, opting to curb Beatlemania for a moment, and writing in power pop group Fountains of Wayne as his replacement for this Round.
One contestant will move on now, while the other two will battle it out in the Elimination Sing-Off. This was an incredibly challenging Round and chance played a huge role in the proceedings. However, I know all three of you are tough contestants who can roll with the punches and stand strong with the songs that you've chosen. We're at a point that every single contestant can win this Season and each contestant at risk changes the face of the competition in a dramatic way. Regardless of who moves forward, all three of you should be proud to have done so well in perhaps the most difficult Season of Fan Idol so far.
The contestant earning 159 points, just one more than the next ranking contestant is...
{Spoiler}{Spoiler}
Roxie Daggers!!! who survives to play another day with Queen's speeding car of a song, Stone Cold Crazy, Talking Heads dreamy (Nothing But Flowers), and the Eagles' bluesy, distorted One of Those Nights!!!
That means the Sing-Off will be between:
Sloth Spartan!!! who gathered 158 points with Fountains of Wayne's Hey Julie, George Jones' The Race is On, and They Might Be Giants' Don't Let's Start!!!
and
Anonymous GM!!! who earned 134 points with The Cars' Just What I Needed, MGMT's Congratulations, and Old Man by Neil Young, as performed live at Farm Aid 1998.
Good luck to both our Elimination Sing-Off Contestants!!! I know you will bring it big time at this most important battle, one that will have an enormous impact, either way, on the Season!!!
