Okay I'm only a few minutes in, but something is bugging me. Did TMZ go Tommy Wiseau on Doug recently? Because I can't help but shake that impression with the scene of his I'm watching. EDIT: Oh my gosh, IT'S FORTY MINUTES LONG?!

Time stamps for heavy-handed Demo Reel content0:00 - 2:06 13:07 - 15:11 19:25 - 20:28 34:24 - 38:26 39:50 - 40:45 Jesus, what a mess. I remember seeing this when I was 9 or 10 at home, and being utterly confused as to why one movie became a completely different one halfway through. It felt so jarring, and honestly, after having grown attached to David's family connection, more than a little sad (I also loved Teddy). I also COMPLETELY forgot about {Spoiler}{the ending}The hell?! I forgot all about the not-aliens being part of that. I remembered how it had as many endings of Return of the King, though. Got some good laughs from the review part, and I appreciate that Doug had a lot to say about it, and I liked hearing his opinions; but yeah, Demo Reel was real forced and obvious this week.

As much as I try to defend Doug's use of skits spread out through his reviews, yeah, I can't really defend it here. That was just too much.
Still a good review, though.

Good review... but again the TMZ parts were terrible... as the joke is always the same that TMZ is terrible, something I am well aware of and sure as hell do not need to be reminded 5 times for roughly 1/4 of the review...

The TMZ rants got old the first time, but it's NC so he's going to milk it dry. Also I'm not sitting for 40 mins for a review. Not getting fooled this time.

A.I. wasn't a sequel at all or even 'kind of' a sequel. It was a project of Stanley Kubrick's. Kubrick felt it it would be more in Spielberg's wheel-house and he was going to produce the movie with Spielberg directing. Spielberg and Kubrick had been close since the early 1980s. Spielberg would honor much of Kubrick's designs and vision. Kubrick put a lot into the project (every project). Obviously Kubrick died before Spielberg made A.I.
On a related note, Spielberg is set to bring Kubrick's other big unrealized film project to life when he adapts Kubrick's Napoleon project into a mini-series. Yet another unrealized Kubrick movie was going to be about the Holocaust. He didn't make it because Spielberg's Shindler's List had been released and did so well. Kubrick's previous film was Full Metal Jacket and some felt it might have done better had it not been released the year after Platoon. Kubrick wanted to avoid a similar situation with his Holocause movie.

Wait, so the aliens was Kubrick? I legitimately didn't know that.

At this point, I have to ask if anybody would miss the Nostalgia Critic if he left again? Some of these videos border on unwatchable. The Demo Reel segments in this killed my interest in finishing the video and I wasn't even halfway through it.

A.I. wasn't a sequel at all or even 'kind of' a sequel. I'm pretty sure that "clue" was for the TMZ bits... since it's a "TV SHOW" and followup of sorts to the other TMZ bit he did -_-

I might just be the kind of guy that's easily amused, but the TMZZZZZZZZHHH!!!! voice cracked me up every time. The skits themselves, admittedly those got old quick.
As for the movie itself, it's goofy as hell but inoffensive. Kubrick was pretty ambituous there, but he took a home run swing and flied out to center.

Those skits were terrible and made this video near unwatchable. I'm not going to watch this review again unless an edited version goes up on youtube with the TMZ skits removed.

Anyone got a link to it on Youtube without the skits? I find them to be the most un-funny things ever. Just forced as hell.
