Despite the overly long skits, the review was pretty good. I also think the idea of the film being a friend trying to make another's dream come to life was genuinely touching. It kinda makes me view A.I in a different light.

The review was funny, though a couple gags he did were drawn out (no Critic, it's not necessary to bring up the Chris Rock-bot over and over). I loved the quick Mel Gibson joke with that reporter coming in, but other than that they were unbearable. Unless TMZ sent the Critic angry e-mails over his rant I don't see why he found these skits so funny and necessary.
The Jurassic Park review and the joke I just mentioned are examples of how he's used skits the right way. I'm hoping this was a one-off reaction like I'm thinking and the rest will be more like that.

According to Rob Walker, the TMZ skits were in response to TMZ demanding that Youtube pull his video where he went on a rant against them.
His post from TGWTG Forums on the subject:
Actually, TMZ sooOOOooo couldn't handle us criticizing them, that they used their legal goons to get one of our videos taken down from Youtube. As you can probably guess, it was the video with Doug's TMZ rant in it. Imagine the irony of that: a slimy, bottom feeding show that does nothing but tear down others can't take it when it's dished back to them. There are trolls all over the net who rip into us, and I mean really NASTY, scary stuff. I don't remember whining to Youtube to get THEM pulled off the air. Youtube, of course, capitulated to TMZ's dark legal masters without question. Remember, this is the internet's future as Corporate Hollywood and Congress sees it: "guilty before proven innocent."
Publicity is the last thing we were going for. To appear on TMZ, or even get "poked" by it (ick, what a disturbing image), wouldn't be an honor. It'd be proof that Jesus died in vain. Not that I have to worry about that, since any organization that is so terrified by B-list internet critics is not going to play a similar rant on their vacuous show.
So to all the people who complained that the TMZ sketch was unnecessary...
Tough shit. I love you guys, but every once in awhile we have to do something for ourselves. Not because it's right for the fans, but because it's right for our souls. Sometimes you just need to let it all out. Try it. I think you'll find you'll feel better. I know I did. This was a catharsis. Simply shouting "Next on TMZZZZEEEEEH!!!" like a lobotomized game show host made me smile inside. Sorry if you hated it... but I have no regrets.
And I doubt Doug does either.

I KNEW IT! Those paparazzi jackasses are thin-skinned as Justin Bieber proved. Eh, Rob maybe could have been slightly less harsh, but that doesn't make him a d-bag. Since they did pull a Wisseau, I say flame them just a bit more. By that, I mean one last separate skit not put it in another review.

And the reason I call Rob a douche is mostly for the very holier than thou attitude with talking about Jesus and especially the line that is all "who cares about what people want, cause it's good for our SOUL!!".

Kinda funny that TMZ, a company known for dishing out bullshit on people can't take it themselves.

What exactly did they expect to prove? That TMZ is a terrible show/site run by terrible people? I thought that was pretty damned obvious from watching like 5 seconds of it and not some grand statement that MUST be told.

I have no problem with them going after TMZ, just do it in a separate video.
There was a guy on youtube posting NC with the skits removed (Search Nostalgia Critic NBSE), but he only did the first 4 new NC reviews. I wish someone would do the rest.
If this doesn't change I'm going back to only watching Brad Jones' videos and some Angry Joe videos.

Ah, Stanley Kubrick. Did you guys know he was a great director? He was, he directed such films as 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, and The Shining. So, I'm sure all you folks are thankful that I let you know that, y'know, about Stanley Kubrick directing 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, and The Shining. Oh yeah, by the way, Mr. Kubrick, Stanley being his first name, also directed 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, and The Shining, were you guys aware of that? Because he did, he as in Stanley Kubrick, and he did direct such films as 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, and The Shining. So yeah, next time you see Goldenbane or Doug Walker, you'll remember that a director by the name of Stanley Kubrick directed the movies: 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, and The Shining.

I miss when NC episodes just consisted of Doug, a white background, and his own wit. Enough of this skit crap.

Yeah, but that was another swipe at TMZ. And Rob just meant they were using the review for a release for the frustration of what TMZ did with YouTube. While I don't like most of the Demo Reel skits, I thought the Tommy Wissaeu Show was hilarious.

So they did the TMZ stuff to amuse themselves, and not their fan base? If that's the case, why put the video out there? Do you have to prove to the world that you did indeed rip on them?
They're straddling the same line that Seth MacFarlane does on his shows now.

Kinda funny that TMZ, a company known for dishing out bullshit on people can't take it themselves. Ditto to TGWTG. It just annoys the hell out of me that they want to be taken seriously, they want to be this serious medium, and then they address controversies with such a crybaby approach it makes Vince McMahon look refined. "Good for our souls"? What a pretentious crock! I mean, did it EVER occur to them that maybe the video was pulled because they used footage from TMZ, not for the rant on them? I mean, that happens quite often. They've been on YouTube enough to know. I refuse to believe the Walker bros. don't know how the system works (they did, after all, host each new NC review to a brand new channel to skate past policy), but this reeks of "not knowing how the system works". Sorry if this comes off as a rant of it's own, but I get SO SICK of them doing stuff like this. You can't address it in a professional manner (despite the fact your whole channel wants to be taken so damn seriously), you gotta hit them with a half-assed parody that not even your fans like because "it's good for your soul". If TMZ were to even acknowledge you (and they shouldn't, really) they would rip you guys up, that is their job. TGWTG trying to fight some crusade against TMZ is the equivalent of some no-name camcorder LPer trying to lead a crusade against Retsupurae, or some D-movie director fighting against MST3K. Best-case scenario (and most-likely), they just say "Pfffffffft..." and ignore you, completely null-and-voiding your entire thing. Worst? TMZ rips you apart. I don't see the scenario where TGWTG/Doug Walker "defeats" TMZ. I almost think they're trying to stir the pot so they can get viewers in or something because the numbers are down (oh wait, no, that's AdBlocker, the overall quality of the videos can't possibly have taken a nosedive). I am just so sick of all these internet personalities using their videos to jump on soapboxes like this. Little Kuriboh using full YGOTAS episodes to whine and cry about YouTube policies (which he has done multiple times), TGWTG whining about a bill that wouldn't have even been CLOSE to doing what they claimed it would, and now this. If you want to have an opinion, be serious about it. Write an open letter, make a serious no-gimmick video, not to be funny, but to address your issue with TMZ pulling a video or with a bill in government and so on. Don't use your main source of entertainment to take time out and stand on your pulpit to call these people out (because right now NOBODY is talking about what you guys thought of A.I.). And especially don't tell your fanbase "tough shit" when (as many sheep as there are in those fanbases) they call you out for not being entertaining, especially WHEN YOU ACKNOWLEDGE YOURSELF IT WAS NOT ENTERTAINING! There, done. Maybe it's the journalism classes I took in college, that taught me how to address issues like this professionally and why it's important, that get me so worked up.

After seeing the response, I don't see how anyone can be a fan of TGWTG. When did a funny internet review site become Foxnews? Like why does TGWTG even care that a video of theirs got pulled from Youtube? The video was likely pulled because of the use of TMZ content not "TGWTG made fun of us waaaaaaahhhhhh". Honestly if they keep this up, I can see TMZ just punching TGWTG right in the face.

If they wanted to make a F**K TMZ video....then why didn't they just make a F**K TMZ video ? It's not like that haven't done that before , and that way they wouldn't add 10 unnecessary minutes to a review video.(and personally I am so-so about the whole Skit thing)
