www.mirror.co.uk/sport/other-sports/wrestling/pink-black-attack-bret-harts-1944414His book sits behind me on my desk...He is my favorite of all time...Pink and black...As a wrestler and an american soldier i confided in his underdog story...but his memoir and his own words paints a picture of someone unrelentingly and self intimidatingly not feeling guilt for the things he has done...This will probably break every Bret Hart fan's proverbial Heart no pun intended...and I do feel it's a cheap cash in to announce it as she did after his Appreciation Night but at the same time you cannot fault her for dealing with knowing that for as long as she did he was constantly sleeping with and getting drunk with anything that gave him adoration

Julie first announced her book a while back, like around 2009.
But I doubt if it will make much of an impact with Bret's fans. We've known about his cheating since his book came out. And Julie's done atleast a couple of long interviews, where she gave most of her side of the story.
Bret has (or had) issues. Just like most big celebrities.

I'll read it once it's at the public library.

It actually seems like it could be pretty fascinating, really. Beyond the more sordid side of things (which she's absolutely right to cover as part of it), she's got an inside perspective on the Hart family and WWE that we haven't ever really got the chance to hear as much as we have from Bret himself. Be quite neat to hear her stories from over the years.

Many rewrites but she decided it was time to publish after seeing her kids cry for their father on TV...Her side is valid and definitely going to paint a new portrait but her timing seems a bit jaded

Will many people really buy this? The ex-wife of a pro wrestler who had hit his highest popularity peak in the mid-late 90s, doesn't really scream book deal. I'm sure some people will buy it, but not nearly enough to cover the cost of production (unless publishing books is extremely cheap). IMO, I'd be surprised if it even sells 4 out of every 10 copies.

It could have been more popular/shocking if she had released it before Bret released his own book. But Bret was pretty open and honest in his own book, so I'm not so sure anything she will say in her book will take anyone by surprise.
As someone else said, I'll wait for it to become available at the library. To be fair, I had per-ordered it a few months back and the release date kept changing and I got tired of waiting so I cancelled my order.

"He was constantly sleeping with and getting drunk with anything that gave him adoration."Bret Hart f***ing rules. How many mirrors did he bang? 4 out of 10? forgetting that he referred to himself like a Beatle in Germany and God on the wall where his hand fit just like an idol...If you want a deep look into ego, drugs, alcohol, and perverse sexism this book will do it...Julie as you guys said basically is gonna just wash up and cash in....He says he is an unfortunate demon to his own misgivings...He paints alot of pictures in pink and black...Her on the other hand was home alone and in the Hart house all the time and also dealing with her sister and Dynamite threatening to kill em all...his kids, her, and bret and their kids the most f'd up thing is that his words regarding Ric Flair and how he was phony was the hardest part for me to read

IIRC, this was actually supposed to be a book with two authors: Julie Hart and Michelle Billington. For some reason, Dynamite's wife backed out and it became Bret's ex-wifes book on her own.
I'm just hoping this one is around longer than the Diana Hart book.

As for the book, I'm sure there will be some interesting parts to it like before Bret went to WWF, when they almost got divorced in the 80's, dealing with Dynamite, Vince telling Bret to go to WCW, Montreal, and Bret's concussion. I'm sure it won't paint the portrait that Bret and Julie were just 2 people in love dealing with the pains and hardship from being a part for so long, but for some reason I can't see Julie talking about all Bret's affairs being that interesting.

I'm looking forward to it. Too bad Frank Perry's not around anymore to make a movie about her experiences with a dirtbag husband like Bret (who will always be my number one favorite wrestler, terribly flawed human being but aren't we all). Sad story all the way around.

To his credit, I doubt that there's much dirt on Bret to dig up that he didn't already cover in his own book.

Meh. I'm not a fan of autobiographies about someone written by someone else. Unless there is a exception of course like Andy Kaufman died in his prime before he could even write a book and his close friend and writer Bob Zmuda writing it instead. Reason being is writing about someone is just telling what they did and speculating why while someone writing about themselves not only tells you what they did but why exactly. Sure her book will have some details about Bret Hart purposely left out in his book and they will probably be true or of have grains of truth in them but its probably not going to feel so shocking since Bret Hart didn't paint himself all to well in his book. However I'm always curious on the stress and feelings and difficulties wives have when their famous husband is away for a long long time.

Fixed!

What I am most curious about is and it happens all to often in regards to people being gone and separated so long if she stepped outside the boundaries as well...Bret questions it himself a few times throughout his book
then again it frustrates me because its none of any of our business and it doesnt change the fact of what he accomplished in the ring...He wasn't Benoit...He was a self absorbed male with a great skill set...I'll never justify what he did but I can understand the temptation
