So if you're a member of the shop.wrestlingis website, they have a new video that is called Ashes-Prelude and it says the event date is July 21st 2013. It has Quack talking to someone about using the facility to train wrestlers and that he will call it The Wrestle Factory. Kind of interesting. Anybody else see this? That was actually really awesome. I can't tell if this is a telling of Chikara history, or a reboot or whatever.. but I'm excited. i thinks it's a kayfabe or maybe straight up telling of chikara's history. It's snowing in the video and on the first chikara show dvd, with the special commentary, quack talks about how chikara was started in the winter and all the gen ones had to learn in the very non-insulated/no heat factory. I think mantis mentions it on his best of the indies too. Plus on the first show quack had similar lol worthy facial hair that he has in this video. "Ashes" also shows that they're in the Allentown area...where chikara first started. omg i kinda hope it's like the kayfabe story of chikara! i'm sooo beyond excited right now! |

is it safe to say that Quack may have gone a little bit (more) insane? Yeah, just a bit.  I love it..But at the same time it just seems soo complex. Maybe too complex? What most people think what's going regarding these videos are a documentary about the Wrestle Factory and CHIKARA in the early years. Or like it's a 52-style alternate universe reboot of CHIKARA. Like Peck's time travel shenanigans have brought us back to the past of a parallel dimension or something. Also, from a dude at the 101: Wow - in no uncertain terms Quack made a very clear statement at the 23 minute mark of the latest Grizzly Bear Egg Cafe podcast - "My wife has never had any ownership or control over the company Chikara, Incorporated. For more than seven years she's supported the creative endeavors of Chikara whole-heartedly. And anything out there to the contrary that is being implied is misinformation and any claims to the contrary are lies. So anybody perpetuating stuff like that - please stop. Enough of that." |

So... yes I see a few options.
1.Quack realizes that the last year plus hasn't been good for CHIKARA for various reasons and wants to erase it ala comics New-52 style.
2.Quack is lying or underplaying how much control his wife had or CHIKARA was a hold up in settling their assets if there was a divorce.
3.Quack's gone crazy.

As I mentioned elsewhere, in regards to the Colony video on Ashes' vine...
...Anyone else think Fire and Green are possibly looking for Soldier? The caption is "The hunt is on..." and Soldier's been AWOL since he quit CHIKARA.
