As I mentioned elsewhere, in regards to the Colony video on Ashes' vine... ...Anyone else think Fire and Green are possibly looking for Soldier? The caption is "The hunt is on..." and Soldier's been AWOL since he quit CHIKARA. What's the vine user name? |

Viral campains are lame
But chikara is a small promotion, so all this does is they get their chikara fans into wrestling is... When those fans were already the chikara fanbase
In the end chikara will have gained nothing.

seeing how "Wrestling Is..." is a branch of Chikara, they probably gained some from taking the summer off. Plus everyone knows Chikara for its wacky and intricate story lines. Things like this are to be expected, especially with the comic-esque nature of Chikara. Oh and Chikara is like the 3rd/4th Biggest company in America depending on who you ask. It's not that small anymore.

It's not that small anymore. 4th biggest company in america means absolutely nothing when it's pretty much neck and neck after 2nd By the by. I think this whole story is dumb. Not in a good way either. It's needlessly dense and at the end of the day I just stopped caring. |

Considering some factors, CHIKARA looked to be moving ahead of even ROH. Which is weird to say, seeing as they have a TV show, but attendance & profits from iPPVs tend to paint that picture for the two companies. So, it's not like it's fanbase is purely the small bubble it once was several years ago.
Personally, I think it's crazy but I'm kind of loving it. Only this promotion has offered a true and legitimate alternative in the US on such a high level and has continued to be ambitious with it's story telling in ways wrestling promotions rarely are.
It's different. And, that's good, in my opinion. I think the two, or arguably three, promotions above CHIKARA in the US could take some lessons from it in it's story telling.
And, rybackrulez, I'm not sure what boards you've been on...all the wrestling boards I regularly visit that have a CHIKARA fanbase presence on them have been buzzing and speculating on this. It's done it's job and gotten people hooked.

Yeah, but the only people they've hooked were already into chikara already.
Which i guess with a promotion who thrives in the niche that is an internet only audience, bravo?

Actually, I've seen a fair few people who claimed they were never into CHIKARA before this. Both at 101 and other boards I've seen them chime in that this storyline attracted them to the promotion. So....again, I don't know where you've been reading.
And, every promotion's audience is apart of the internet, so I don't see how that is at all relevant. But yes, it is a niche audience, as CHIKARA's never claimed or tried to be anything else. If you've ever listened to Quackenbush himself, he's rather content on being a niche market and being a true alternative to what the top promotions offer.
Not everybody wants or needs to be WWE or TNA.

Wrestling is.. I get it trainees who aren't that good.
But eh.
I hope chikara comes back with some good wrestling again though because 2012 and the first part of 2013 was darn good stuff.
