Royals beat the Red Sox 4-3, taking the series 3-1. Royals haven't lost a series since before the All Star Break, going 18-5.

The Mets are really making a case to a ton of us fans who have felt little but agony since late-2007 to perk back up and buy ticket plans for 2014. The pitching is young and only going to get better when a couple of the other top farm system arms make their way in, and now suddenly it looks like we have young players who can hit(?!? I forgot what offense looked like!), which makes things even more interesting. They'll also have a ton of room to spend this offseason (payroll will be down around $50 million), and finally have an intelligent front office after years of mind-numbing stupidity.
The light at the end of the tunnel has finally brightened up, and it isn't an oncoming bullet train. So very, very ready for a new era.

Hughes has about 50 pitches and he isn't even out of the second inning yet. Why couldn't they trade him at the deadline. I've never seen a pitcher struggle so much to get strike 3 so many times after starting off 0-2. White Sox fans go through that when Dylan Axelrod pitches. Which is sad because he "replaced" Philip Humber in the rotation, who did the exact same thing. I think he gets paid by the pitch. They get 0-2, then nibble, nibble, nibble like they think they're Greg Maddux. This is why we miss Mark Buerhle, one of the better ground-ball pitchers there is. Just pitch the ball, let your fielders take care of the rest...and be done in 2 hours.

Yey I get to contribute to this thread!
I'm coming to New York next week and just booked my tickets to see the Yankees (Sorry Mets fan, if I go again I promise I'll go see them) next Wednesday so I'm looking forward to that. I will be honest not a massive baseball fan however I have seen a few games here and there and enjoyed what I've seen, plus can't go to America and not see a baseball game.

Jose Iglesias is a wizard. Is this what its like to have an infielder that can actually play defense?

White Sox score 6 runs for Chris Sale (!!!) to actually get a win for the kid. In his previous 12 starts, he was 2-9 with a sub-3 ERA - but the Sox averaged about 2 runs per start in that time.

Jose Iglesias is a wizard. Fielder nearly suffered a career ending injury there lol. Iglesias is a great defender but with Miggy and Prince, that infield defense is still awful.

I'm ok with little home run celebrations so long as they aren't drawn out to the point of obnoxious spectacle or blatantly taunting the pitcher/other team. Baseball players are too sensitive about bat flips or watching the home runs.
