I'm totally cool with baseball players having fun and celebrating, especially when it sticks right in the craw of the stodgiest of the old fogies who cover the game. For example, Prince Fielder's home run celebration after a walk-off win over the Giants in 2011 was one of the cooler moments of the season.
That being said, if a player wants to preen after a no-doubter home run, then they shouldn't be playing the role of sudden tough guy when they catch one in the ribs. That's a practice that has been going on for decades, and it's not about to change.
So I'm fine with Bryce Harper posing for a second after a moonshot home run, just like I'm fine with Julio Teheran putting one in his ribcage as a result of his braggadocio. I have no problem with Yasiel Puig sliding into home plate after a walk-off over the Reds, just like I'll be cool with whatever Reds pitcher it is that puts one square in his back the next time Cincinnati and the Dodgers meet. The only issue I have is with Harper, and inevitably Puig, who suddenly get taken aback and put on the Carmelo Anthony Tough Guy Face after getting plunked.

Dan Uggla placed on DL due to eye surgery.
As horrible as it sounds, nothing of value is lost with this move.

Yankees ended up winning that game 14-7. I'm surprised that none of the 7 runs were given up by Joba Chamberlain.

Here's an odd one for the scorebook, the Pirates just turned a 6-9-3 Double Play.

Paul Konerko has been placed on waivers. That's something I thought I'd never hear. I always hated seeing Konerko face the Indians, but I respect him as a player and a man. He should be a Chicago man for life.

Toronto Blue Jays have traded Emilio Bonifacio to the Kansas City Royals for a player to be named later or cash considerations Man let that sink in for a moment after everything this offseason. Blue Jays - sellers, Royals (with a better record than the Yankees)- Buyers

Who do you think are the biggest underachievers this year compared to their preseason hype? The Angels, the Nationals, or the Blue Jays?
