Who do you think are the biggest underachievers this year compared to their preseason hype? The Angels, the Nationals, or the Blue Jays? I'd say it's a coin toss between the Angels and the Nationals. At the beginning of the season, I assumed the Angels were going to be a force because I thought they had a great roster. The Nationals, on the other hand, were crowned champions by a lot of media outlets before the season began. And, to be honest, I thought they'd be a lot tougher because of their perceived 'great' roster (much like the Angels). From what I recall, almost all analysts I read/watched predicted that the Nationals would be representing the NL in the World Series.

And basically most of the acquisitions the Blue Jays got were from the Marlins, who last year was in last place after getting all of them. Others were Melky Cabrera (who even though he was out, the Giants still won the World Series) and RA Dickey (who was a one year wonder). Now unlike the Marlins, I would like to not implode our team like the Marlins did after last year. While we made a lot of acquisitions, the majority of people had us at best getting a wild card.

Even though they didn't get a lot of pre season hype you also have to look at the Giants as being huge disappointments. If they stay in last place they will join only the 1998 Marlins as defending world series champs to finish in last

Reds are now 48-18 against the Cubs since 2010. Every time they go in a slump they bust out by sweeping the Cubs. Always a good time.
After falling behind by 7 in the division Cincy is back within 3. Can't slip up like that again.

Can't slip up like that again. I remember Mark Grace telling a story years ago about "slump busting". Keeping it simple, he found a large woman and they got freaky. He said it helped him hit better if h e was slumping. Basically the Cubbies are lonely, fat chicks as far as the Reds are concerned.

Hey guys I would really appreciate some fantasy input if anybody here is good with that sort of thing. I've been in first place all season and I'm starting to slip so any help would be great.
My SS Tulowitzki has been sucking and I have no backup right now. So not only is he sucking, but I'm losing points when he has off days.
I want to pick up SS Alexei Ramirez....the only position I have room to drop a player is OF. I have: Starling Marte, Torii Hunter, Hunter Pence, Jayson Werth and Shin-Soo Choo. Plus Matt Carpenter is eligible in OF too if I had to put him there.
So who do I drop to pick up Ramirez? My gut is telling me Choo, but I'm afraid someone else will scoop him up and I'll live to regret it.
Any thoughts? Thanks a lot!

And this is the Nationals type team that we thought we were going to see this season, but didn't happen.

The Giants are putting up one of the worst non-firesale showings by a defending champ ever.
They have a worse record than the Nationals, Blue Jays AND Angels.
The baseball gods have turned on them with a vengeance after getting almost every single break last year.

I think that's the first ever inside-the-park home run (I know it's not scored as such) I've ever seen based solely on errors.

I think this is a really good thing. Shouldn't slow the game down much either.

Holliday actually clutch for a change. We're hot on the Buccos's heels.
