I'm reading some stuff on Twitter that Charlie Manual is no longer manager of the Phillies. Take it with a grain of salt, of course. From a writer that covers the Phillies: twitter.com/magelb/status/368426979319885824Seems like the wrong guy is going, in my opinion (if true). That roster is full of old, injured, expensive players.

Glad to see Rhyno get a shot (one of my favorite non-Mets growing up) but that team needs to replace Amaro. The Mets are better then the Phillies...THE METS

Officially Ryne Sandberg is named interim Phillies Manager. Juan Samuel moves from First base coach to third base coach, Wally Joyner moves to first base coach and stays assistant hitting coach.
Ya know, with the Dodgers (Mattingly, McGwire, Tim Wallach) and the Dimaondbacks (Kirk Gibson, Steve Sax, Alan Trammell, Matt Williams) you can recreate all the late 1980's all star games with just those coaching staffs.

Ruben Amaro has done a great job of destroying that team's long term future in order to sign bad contracts for older players. He needs to go next.
I'd like to see Manuel go to Washington.

After today's win the Cubs are 7-7 against the Cardinals. Their combined record against the rest of the NL Central is 12-25.

The Cubs must owe the Reds something. They lay down for them all season and then go out and pound St. Louis.
Gracias, amigos.

Alfonso Soriano's incredible week continued Friday against the Red Sox, as he finished 3-for-4 with a home run, four RBI and two runs scored.

I fully expect the Nats to retaliate tonight and plunk a Braves player (it's about all they have, at this point). Boy I hope Gattis is in the lineup and they make the mistake of pissing him off.
