Cards win Pirates lose, Cards back to within 1 game of first, and yet they're still not really clicking again, yet.

Cards win Pirates lose, Cards back to within 1 game of first, and yet they're still not really clicking again, yet. The key is the rotation. Early on in the season Matheny let them all play Mr. Macho and go for complete games, with most of the pen not named Rosenthal or Mujica not getting enough work, which IMO may have led to a mild burnout and the pen needing to do more work. Cue the hitters sensing the unevenness and getting more careless(ness) at the plate to compensate, and thus you have our current issues.

Some good old-fashion Boston douchebaggery here.
For Dempster to not get thrown out is nothing short of bullshit.

I'm a Boston fan and beaning A-Rod like that was ridiculous.

Yeah Dempster, you really showed him by giving the Yankees free baserunners with no one out in the middle of a pennant race

I turned off the game because ESPN's commentators almost make John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman sound good.

And A-Rod comes back with a homer to push the Yankess to within 2 runs. TO quote Joe Girardi: "YOU'RE A f***ING PUSSY DEMPSTER!"

I know we have been saying this for 15 years, but there has to be something we can do to get this Red Sox/Yankees game to go a bit faster

Ryan Dempster may have just done the impossible- make A-Rod, who everyone thinks is evil incarnate, look somewhat sympathetic.

And A-Rod's homer is the most production the Yankees have seen out of 3rd base in a long time. That goes to show just how bad the guys replacing A-Rod have been. Major League Baseball's Lance Armstrong everyone. This guy is not getting voted to another All Star Game for a long time. Freaking douche.

A-Rod: When asked if Dempster should be suspended:
"I'm the wrong guy to ask about suspensions. But if he is, I've got a lawyer I can recommend."

Nationals acquired OF David DeJesus from the Cubs for a player to be named later. Bit of an easy trade, given the Nats are at Wrigley today. Though it's also a strange trade, given how far back the Nats are, and they don't even have a prayer of getting the wildcard.
