I've never bought into the "Simpson's is crap now" attitude. There are weak episodes, sure, but there are still new episodes that are absolute gems. Give me some examples. I want to like the new Simpsons, as I like the old ones, but I just can't anymore. How do you know they didn't just see a story about WWE on the news or something, search up pro-wrestling on Wikipedia or something, saw Gorgeous George as one of the first names mentioned, the explanation of heels and faces, then just stopped right there and chucked out the episode? (It's a stretch) CM Punk being referenced in some sort of pop-culture would be very interesting, by the way. Well they showed clips of Cena vs. Punk from that Raw match for the #1 Contendership for WM29 during The Hangover III

I don't see how this thread doesn't warrant joking (I wouldn't say trolling, but whatever) comments.
It's a guy taking a joke, made by a show that has literally made fun of damn near everything, extremely personally. He has a problem with the wrestling specific references being old timey, despite the fact that neither Burns or Abe, as characters, should know a thing about modern wrestling. He wants a return to the wholesome fun of The Simpsons, which essentially boils down to the description of "episodes I liked".
All in all, it seems to boil down to OP being on of those "I hate modern Simpsons episodes" guys mixed in with David Arquette from Ready to Rumble when people make fun of wrestling or when people get some minute detail about wrestling wrong.
I would say such a ridiculous topic invites ridiculous repsponses.

I'm not offended by wrestling jokes, I just hate how this episode tried to pull it off and it was not entertaining. There have been funnier wrestling parodies.

Just watched the episode. Saw nothing offensive about the joke. No more offensive than any other Simpsons joke. The episode was awful(as are the newer ones). A joke about pro-wrestling can't really be offensive(at least to me). South Park, for example, has done better parodies.

All this anger over an episode of the Simpsons? Yet it's okay for people here to get pissed about Triple H or John Cena or something. I'm not upset over one episode of the Simpsons. I'm upset over the tons of new ones that are crap. I was just trying to tie that into wrestling with the OP. And it is kinda like how people feel about Cena. Crap mistakes that add up make Cena more infamous, and many feel the same way about the Simpsons.

Never said that wasn't silly of them either Burns makes an awful joke by looking at the viewer and basically saying that wrestling fans are complete morons. That really f***ing pissed me off. Certainly seems like you were upset or had a chip on your shoulder about something.

Sorry if I made it seem like it did. And what's wrong with a couple of frustration-filled Triple H "I wanna squash him" jokes every now and then? Burns makes an awful joke by looking at the viewer and basically saying that wrestling fans are complete morons. That really f***ing pissed me off. It's the internet. Swearing makes everything better. Yeah, maybe I should've used a different thread to voice frustrations on the Simpsons, but oh well, I guess.
