Big Show's not being painted as Bryan's hero because he hasn't helped Bryan at all. If anything, Bryan would probably be better off if he didn't get involved.
And how is Show the one taking the spotlight? Were you listening to the crowd on Raw? It was Bryan that was getting the biggest pops of the night, while Big Show was getting quite a bit of boos when his name was mentioned. Bryan was also the one that ended up knocking Orton out and standing tall at the end of the show with the title, while Big Show cowardly left, because he can't make up his mind what to do. If you can't figure out just from that who's getting depicted as the star of the storyline, there's no point in debating this further.

For those complaining about the IC belt not being defended, I've mentioned time and time again that CM Punk has Undertaker syndrome. In other words, is allergic to mid-card belts.
Unless a Hardcore Title is involved.

So, unless Kofi wins the title on Main Event or SmackDown, there's no point in having a Night of Champions next year because the point is lost. This is what I really don't get. Instead of doing the Heyman angle on Monday they should've just done the "Kofi beat Axel on SD last week now he gets a title shot" then you have Punk distract Axel and Kofi roll him up to win the title. Now I have no desire to see Kofi as Champ again but the main point of Night of CHAMPIONS is all the title's are defended. This was an easy way to get the title off Axel so he didn't have to defend it against Punk in a match he was obviously going to lose. And they instead just decided to kill the gimmick of their PPV because apparently that's easier. Jesus, it's not even like Axel was doing anything as Champ, he was just being as boring as usual. They could've just had Kofi transition it to someone on Sunday. Someone like Fandango or Barrett, hell even a returning Tyson Kidd (heard he's fit again? although I guess he would've returned on RAW if he was fit.). Point is, they should've had Axel drop the belt to Kofi!

Have they even used the "Every title is on the line" tagline in advertising for it this year? I mean, yeah, they're not doing what they've done the entire time this particular PPV has been running, but it's not exactly false advertising if they don't say it.

It's not false advertising but it just seems stupid to me. Like this is the 'Night of Champions', surely this is the one PPV they can get their heads together and actually book every champion in a feud over the title? It's just once a year.

Honestly, Night of Champions isn't needed. They could scrap this PPV next year, and it won't really damage anything. What big moments have ever even happened at Night of Champions? Hasn't each one ended with most of the champs retaining? Regardless it's a gimmick PPV that really hasn't gotten to be as big as Money in the Bank or Judgement Day. Both of those are PPV where significant things have happened.

They should make Battleground the September PPV, so that October doesn't get saddled with two events.

They should make Battleground the September PPV, so that October doesn't get saddled with two events. Problem is that they'll always have a month (calendar or just a four week span) with more than one PPV because WrestleMania has about 7~8 weeks of build instead of 4.

Maybe - I doubt it, but maybe - they will have the title change hands on a house show. They have two house shows on Saturday, so they could potentially have Kofi win the title on one of them, defend it in a random match at Night of Champions, then if they really must have Axel keep doing nothing but dragging the title down with him (somehow, given how worthless it as at this point anyway) he could win it back on Raw. I don't at all think that will happen, the only times in recent-ish memory I can think of when they had a title change on a house show were Primo and Epico beating Air Boom last year and Miz and Morrison beating Kofi and Punk just before Punk was to win a number one contendership for the Intercontinetal title.
Actually, Kofi seems to have a habit of being involved in title changes on house shows now that I mention it.

This PPV has five or six matches.
Maddox has been shown to dislike Heyman. Maddox will remind Axel of the name of the PPV and have him defend his title against Kofi. It's very likely, if only because the PPV has five or six matches and they need to kill time.

This is probably one of those times that it makes sense to end on a DQ.
Maybe Randy loses by lazily pushing a referee like he did on SummerSlam once.

Usually 7 matches is enough, 5 are already advertised and I'm sure we'll get Ambrose/Ziggler and a bonus match like Fandango/Miz.

Bryan is undefeated at Night of Champions...hope it continues. Not only is he undefeated. He's WON a title at every event. 2010: US Title vs. Miz (2011: defeated Heath in a dark match) 2012: Tag Titles with Kane 2013: WWE Title...?
