....since 2005?
I'm hard pressed to think of another 100% clean loss other than his loss to Bryan. There's usually at least some interference, or weapon use, or a screwy referee.

Trips beat him clean at some point. And of course the Rock.

JBL beat him in a Last Man Standing match clean, Randy Orton beat him in Hell in the Cell at Summerslam 4 years ago, Triple H, Batista, and Shawn Michaels all beat him in standard matches. And of course, Rocky beat him at Wrestlemania last year.

HHH beat him on the New Year's or Christmas RAW a few years ago. As did Shawn Michaels a little before that.

JBL, Randy Orton, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, and of course The Rock have all pinned him clean In addition to those, Batista beat him clean at Summerslam '08.

Big Show has also beat him cleanly on a random episode of RAW, didn't he?

Triple H at Vengeance 2008 and the Raw before Bragging Rights 2009, and probably one or two more I'm forgetting. Rock at Mania 28, Khali on an episode of Saturday Night's Main Event, Michaels on Raw a time or two, Batista at SummerSlam 2008, JBL at whatever the PPV was where they had the car match or whatever it was called... Yeah, not a lot of people've beaten him clean.

I know they wanted to put the guy over strong but did they really have to have him beat the WWE champion in a minute?

Yeah my bad, I forgot about....well, all of those matches.
Still, 5-6 clean losses in 8 years and Bryan is one of them. That's pretty sweet.

But in all honesty, shenanigans have pretty much always been involved in main event matches since the Attitude era.

I consider his loss to Punk at MITB clean - sure he was distracted by Vince/Big Johnny, but so was Punk, so I considered it a wash.

In spite of all this, let's not sell Bryan's win short: Cena's lost clean to big-name veterans, and to his contemporaries Batista and Orton, but Bryan's the first and thus far only guy of the succeeding generation, who didn't debut in WWE until after Cena was established as the top star, to go over him clean. And that's a big deal, IMO.

Yes, but, after Punk threw Cena back into the ring after hitting Cena with the GTS, he, too, was distracted by Vince/Ace. And, when he went back into the ring, he walked into an AA. Had Punk lost there, I don't think too many people would say it wasn't clean. So, when Cena did it, they had been equally distracted, so I say it was a clean win.
