I know the Cena hatred on here has lessened in recent years, but is there actually anyone on here who still thinks Cena is a shitty wrestler?

He is a great wrestler, his character is the problem, has been for a while now. The guy is a fantastic worker and he put over Bryan huge last night.

Yeah, can't see how anyone could doubt his skills after that match, and I couldn't believe the crowd chanting "You can't wrestle". They did a bit of everything there, and excelled at it all.

I don't care for his character, but I recognize and appreciate how over it is and how hard he has worked to get where he is. His in ring work has never been suspect to me. He works his style as pertains to his gimmick. Cool by me. In my opinion, his first match with the rock was great. His matches vs CM Punk were great. He can work

His STF looks bad, his selling can be poor and he sometimes goes for moves that he shouldn't (like the hurricanrana) but he knows how to give a match a 'big fight' feel and he rarely doesn't mesh with an opponent's style. He's not only put on classics with Punk and Bryan but has managed to pull something out of the likes of Khali. He's good at what he does

Cena has never been a "bad" wrestler, per say. He's just a clumsy & sloppy one. Same can be said for Punk in that he's a great in ring worker but a lot of his movement is clumsy. A guy who has put on as many great matches as Cena has can't be called a bad wrestler with a straight face - anyone who says he needs to be carried needs to watch his matches with Khali back in '07.

I didn't know that was a legitimate complete from anyone anymore, goofy chants aside.

There's some suspect advise here. NO ONE should have to sit through those Cena/Khali trainwrecks. Especially if you're trying to show them Cena's capabilities.

I think the haters have pushed Cena to get better. If it wasn't for all the boos and the you can't wrestle and you still suck, he might not have upped his game to where he has today.

If Bryan hadn't protected himself at the ladt second Cena would've broke Bryan's neck on that top rope spot.

He's never really been a _bad_ wrestler. Booking aside, he's capable of good matches in the WWE Main Event style.
He just has an awkward moveset with some moves that just aren't ever going to look good (specifically that flying shoulder tackle of his, his weird flying turkey legs dropkick).

Yeah, I've said it many times before. Cena has the ability to wrestle a good match, more often than not he or WWE just chooses to not let him do it.
As far as the whole Wrestler v Entertainer thing, that's a whole different issue than whether or not Cena can actually wrestle well.

I don't think anybody over 14 thinks Cena's a shitty wrestler. it's his booking that people usually take issue with.

I'm more surprised there are still people who think he's a mediocre or just an ok wrestler. He's at least as good as Shawn Michaels was in getting good stuff out of people not in his league.

He is a great wrestler. Hell he added the batista bomb to his moveset.
The guy works his ass off all the time. If he does take a break for 2 months, saves somebody from a beatdown. He will be an over face again.

I've never minded his wrestling. It's his character and the way he's booked that irritates the hell out of me.

He's good with me. He can go in the ring, and he can put on good to great matches with just about anyone.
Even though it's never going to happen, John Cena vs. Raja Lion would be interesting to watch. Could he get a good match out of that guy?

Thought he was a great wrestler since day one. All you have to do to get a mark or an overzealous Cena hater to lay off his wrestling skills is show them his debut match with Angle. He pulled off a lot of good moves then, some of which he could do today.
