Great winner, great season. Monica deserved to lose the second she got to the end with Tyson and Gervase. Sticking with them made no sense what so ever. If she makes that move one time out of the four opportunities she had, she might have had an argument at the end. She had none. She was exactly what everyone called her. She was Tyson's puppy.

good for Tyson, glad the jury didn't succumb to Monica's waterworks although I loved her "Have you never met a nice person" spiel.
But no player of the season? As for next season, could be interesting as I see them mixing up challenges, but I hope to god there is no more RI, this season is the only time it worked

Here's my live blog: www.rickey.org/survivor-blood-vs-water-winner-finale-results-night/Ultimately, of the people remaining, I'm glad it was Tyson. He was really the only person that made any kind of sense as a winner, although I feared Monica might have pulled a Chase Rice like in Nicaragua, parlaying a middling game into a near-victory on the strength of the final jury performance. Not that it was a Chris Daugherty, blow-out performance, but I thought it was a pretty good jury showing, all things considered. Kind of reminded me of Natalie White in Samoa, when she defended her game and came off very sympathetic and unfairly put-upon, and ended up winning over Russell. Although I maintain to this day that Natalie played a worthy game. I don't know if there's anything Monica could have done differently. I think Tyson won the minute he won that final immunity, and I'm not sure anything was going to change that. Tyson won the minute Monica and Gervase refused to blindside him. They were way too spineless to make a move which is all the more tragic that Ciera didn't make it to F3, as she would've been perhaps the only one aside from Hayden or Aras to deserve the win this season over Tyson's game. And that's kinda the silver lining with these Fans/Faves seasons, yes the Faves are destined to win over the newbies every time, but you'll make the unpolished gems like Ciera, Vytas, Caleb and Hayden who all arguably started off looking like duds into some of the best players to ever play Survivor the longer they last in the game alongside vet players. Ciera ended up teaching Laura how to play the game, and Vytas outlasted his vet brother-- same with Hayden/Kate and Caleb/Colton (Caleb >>>>> Colton in every sense ofc).

Monica and Gervase were in a similiar situation to what Lisa and Michael were in during Phillipines. If they had backstabbed Tyson it just means Tina or Hayden or Ciera would have beaten them instead of him. I agree with you about the noobs vs vets thing. Having the experience of dealing with with starvation usually from 20-39days (or longer if 3peaters) I think is the biggest reason why noobs always got destroyed by vets when they have done these half and half seasons.
I think a solution would be if they do another noobs vs vets make the vets people who went out super early who had potential. That way someone who has spent 6-9 days on an island before wouldn't be as much of an advantage.
