I don't understand why they wouldn't have Monica and Hayden each draw a rock and then eliminate whoever got the white one. Why do they have a rock drawing for all the other players?

It's a punishment for not being able to decide who goes home; the whole point of rock drawing is to scare the people voting into NOT deadlocking and putting themselves at risk.

So yeah, Ciera completely screwed herself over tonight. I'm not seeing any way she can rebound now, even if Monica does flip(and seeing how the last two weeks' previews played out, she won't) Question: Did they show a screen for Tina's son? I didn't know about it at the time, so I wasn't watching for it. Ciera screwed herself but she did it with the intention of making a huge move, so it's a forgivable blunder and certainly made her a lock for all the jury votes if she manages to survive past Tyson's 3-Person Alliance. So alls said and done I'm liking Ciera's chances more as an outsider than when she was the 4th in the 4-Person Alliance (if you recall that same alliance just had a plan that involved writing Ciera's name down, AND Tyson not trusting her word enough to hold onto his Hidden Immunity Idol 2 episodes ago after she selflessly saved Tyson from a blindside.) Consistency doesn't win Survivor in terms of politics so flip flopping between Laura, Tyson and Hayden somehow seems like the best strategy for Ciera to nudge her way into the Final 3/2 with the entire jury on her side.

It's a punishment for not being able to decide who goes home; the whole point of rock drawing is to scare the people voting into NOT deadlocking and putting themselves at risk. Which again shows the SKILL that Hayden has in convincing Ciera and Katie to go through with it, since they'd be taking all the risk (after Hayden's initial risk of getting voted out had passed, given) once the rock-drawing starts, and it was only a CHANCE to eliminate Tyson, and a 1 outta 3 chance at that. Hayden turned a no-shot-at-survival tribal council into one where he had perhaps the best shot all season long of eliminating the biggest threat in the game. The man knows how to play even with his second rate Big Brother skills (gotta love Gervase getting rowdy when he wrote down 'HayDone' lolz)

Can someone explain to how this was a bad move for Ciera or Katie? Monica-Gervase-Tyson made it clear is day their f3 plans. If no one went to rocks it just means Katie was going out at 5 instead of 6. Taking a 1 in 3 shot to knock out someone from an opposing trio with only 33% chance of succesion is still gives you a better% of making the f3 then going along with booting Hayden. Even for Ciera even is safe until f4 her chance of winning the final immunity you would have to guess is decidedly less then 33%.

Even for Ciera even is safe until f4 her chance of winning the final immunity you would have to guess is decidedly less then 33%. I think Ciera is as close to a lock for final three as anyone, just because the person in control will want to take along someone who can't get any votes, and I think Ciera has put herself in that position now when she didn't have to. The move isn't bad because it made getting to the final 3 difficult (if anything, it makes her more of a valuable goat for the end), but because it practically cripples her chances of actually winning. To put it more specifically, the negative issue isn't the move Ciera made in and of itself, but that she waited until tribal council to make it. Now she looks like a wishy-washy, easily-swayed tag-along in front of the jury. Sure, her vote will have been the one to turn the tide, but anyone with eyes at tribal would have seen that it was mostly Hayden's argument that compelled Ciera to make that move. Hence, if anyone gets the credit for the game turning around, it'd be Hayden. At least if she'd have gone with the plan before, she could make an argument in front of the jury that she was thinking ahead and not simply being strung along. But having it all come out at tribal, and then having her flip based on Hayden's argument, makes her seem like someone who wasn't actually taking all facets of her game into consideration. She had a much better jury case before this move than she does now, since now the jury just isn't going to believe her when she tells them she's been in control of her own game, whether it's true or not. Of course, I might be placing a bit too much importance on the move, but it's not like the jury is going to forget this. They went to rocks for the second time in series history, for crying out loud! So it wasn't the move that was bad so much as the timing.

Well, I took two things away from tonight's Tribal.
Gervase's chances of winning just improved greatly and Monica's disappeared.

Here's my recap/analysis: www.rickey.org/survivor-blood-vs-water-episode-13-recap-results-limb/Ciera is both an exciting and thoroughly infuriating presence on this show. Seriously, she seems to have no sense of self-awareness about how her choices are affecting her game, and how she'll be perceived by a jury. She's at the bottom of the totem pole, yet she still has the mistaken idea that she's somehow running things, that she can exert some measure of control, yet so much of her game relies on Laura returning from Redemption Island. Is a jury really going to respect her if she makes it to the end? Especially when her game has been this weird mix of competent strategy, riding coattails, and messing up the games of others? I still think she's a huge threat to make it to the end, but I just can't see her beating anyone in front of a jury except for maybe Gervase, who's been such a loudmouth the past two weeks that I just can't see anyone on the jury really respecting his game. I don't even think she could beat Tyson, who's burned just about everyone. At least Tyson has a gamesmanship argument to make. Hell, Monica is slowly creeping up on having a serious case for the win herself, despite just how obnoxiously hard she's been playing since day one. I mean, she's remained loyal to her alliance, has taken an (occasionally) unfair berating while at tribal but has remained relatively graceful throughout (paranoia back at camp notwithstanding), and has been an insane challenge threat. She's also continued to survive despite having had a target on her back for ages. If nothing else, this could end up being one of the most exhilarating endgames in recent memory. Bring on Sunday.

See, I disagree, I think Gervase had a hell of a night tonight, I think his comment about how Ciera didn't mention the negative comments towards Monica until she was desperate was the thing that kept Monica on their side. He would absolutely have my vote ahead of anyone left in the game, except for Laura. If Laura gets back in and makes final three, I can't imagine her not winning.

Gervase's chances of winning just improved I disagree completely; his social game is SO bad. He is always way too cocky and screams like a maniac in front of current and potential jury members.

Yeah it feels like Gervase and Tyson are competing to see who can Hantz their chances the best. Monica SHOULD be the goat here but she seems to be the one who is the least poor sportsman about winning. I aint giving no million dollars to anybody that feels the need to rub their victory in my loser face and I think a lot of the jury will feel that way.

I just caught up from three episodes ago. A random note I guess but if I were Vytas there's no way I'd vote for Laura if she makes the Final 3. Perhaps what she did wasn't against the rules, but it felt like cheating to me.
