The future Triple H vs. Bushwhacker Butch in Kuwait. Yep.
Apparently, Bret Hart vs. Bob Backlund with Randy Savage as referee was supposed to happen at MSG in late 1994 but Bret ended up being replaced by Diesel and Randy left the company 9 days after Finkel makes the announcement in the clip seen here.

Not an actual match. But... I've seen tons of films from Sylvester Stallone, but somehow I've missed this one all these years. Paradise Alley is a 1978 American sports drama film written, directed by and starring Sylvester Stallone, in his feature film directorial debut. The film tells the story of three brothers in Hell's Kitchen, New York City in the 1940s who become involved in professional wrestling. This was the first major film in which Armand Assante appeared. Anne Archer also starred. Joe Spinell, a co-star of Rocky, played the wrestling MC. A number of professional wrestlers appeared, including Terry Funk as the foil to the hero. Cameos include Ted DiBiase, Bob Roop, Dick Murdoch, Dory Funk Jr., Don Leo Jonathan, Don Kernodle, Gene Kiniski, Dennis Stamp, Ray Stevens, and Uliuli Fifita. Playwright and screenwriter John Monks Jr appeared as Mickey the bartender. Gonna watch this tonight. Also found this weird trivia while reading more about Dick in Wikipedia.

Gonna watch this tonight. Also found this weird trivia while reading more about Dick in Wikipedia. Yeah, Murdoch was KKK. One story left out of the above is the time JYD was riding with him, Murdoch had to stop by a friend's house and invited Dog in with him. After they were inside, JYD realized it was a Klan meeting. Not that it makes him any better by any means, but Murdoch seemed to be more segregationist than lynch-mob. He was okay working with other races because he loved the color green more than any other color, he just didn't want them marrying his daughter. Again, not that that's any better.

Murdoch's idol was Killer Karl Kox, who very deliberately chose those initials, so yeeeeah, klansman.

A Bret Hart/Tom Magee rematch took place at a TV taping in 1989 with the roles reversed as Hart was the face and Magee was the heel billed as "Megaman" with Jimmy Hart as his manager. Hmm...
And here's Bob Backlund putting the Crossface Chickenwing on Pat Patterson at a house show in 1994.

Kelly Kelly worked an indie date in 2019...kind of. The AIW guys booked her to be a headline attraction at their Rubber City Wrestlecon.

www.dailymotion.com/video/xvu4mcThe Rockers vs. The Brain Busters in a matinee card at Madison Square Garden on March 18, 1989. Arn Anderson reportedly suffers a cracked vertebra in his neck during a Frankensteiner by Marty Jannetty (see it at roughly 9:18.) They wrestle another 8 minutes with Arn clearly in pain. So what did he do? Drove to the Boston Garden and wrestled the Rockers again that night in a 22 minute match. www.dailymotion.com/video/xvu56g

What really sucks about that is that a 1989-era Booger (as Makhan Singh) against '89-era Yoko (as Kokina Maximus) probably would have been great.

WWE was trying a lot of giant immobile man matchups around that time. I think this was close to the time they did that awful heel vs heel Mable vs. Yokozuna match at In Your House 4

Larry Sweeney got into a mini-feud with Jake Roberts in a Florida indy.
The show where the match was supposed to happen, Jake no-showed but the snake handler was still there so they just let people take pictures with a snake. Lol
