SDR as a trainer has all of the benefits available to her that any WWE employee gets; medical insurance, paid time off and retirement benefits of some sort be it a 401K, or pension (maybe both). Gotta imagine there's an employee stick ownership program (ESOP) as well. She lives in Florida, which has no state income tax and no cold weather to speak of. Her daily commute to work is probably no more than an hour, compare that to the lengthy plane rides wrestlers have to make all the time. Given the choice, she'd be a fool to take a spot as an active wrestler. Except that was her life's goal. But surely you're right because she's doing it. My main point is that it sucks in the prime of her career to be done performing. Hey, it is better to go out on top than to go out when you are basically a has-been or too injured to continue. |

You aren't missing anything, she'd just job on superstars once a month to alicia fox in a 3 minute match.

She's hardly wasted by being responsible of training every future Diva. Being just a Diva herself would be a bigger waste.

Aren't most backstage non-in ring talents allowed to wrestle on the side? A la Jerry Lawler and Tommy Dreamer? I think Finlay still wrestles on the side. If she wants to wrestle, wouldn't she still be able to for the local Indies?

She's hardly wasted by being responsible of training every future Diva. Being just a Diva herself would be a bigger waste. You're right. Daniel Bryan should stop wrestling and train guys like Heinreich and Snitsky so they'll be better. I'm sorry for being snippy but how is that better? I want to watch an amazing talent not have them train models to be adequete. And again, I get she's probably happy and it's a good job, I'm just personally bummed she's not getting to showcase herself. |

She's probably not complaining. Pretty good job security, better pay than she'd be getting on the indies, doesn't have to travel and less wear and tear on her body.
Really, being a trainer's a pretty sweet gig. Her and Joey Mercury have done well for themselves. Only problem is the fact that they have to work with Bill DeMott.

At least as a trainer she can make an impact training the future Divas in the ring, while if she was on the roster, not only would the future Divas stink, we'd be seeing SDR lose in 3 minute matches to John Cena's girlfriend or AJ or that Ava Mary girl from Total Divas right after getting some stupid ass angle about her farting or her looks. I think she just took the easier, less soul crushing route. |

There's only so many spots for Divas and opportunities to show your in-ring skills are even fewer for women. Training the Divas is probably the best use of her in the current environment. She would have been a great fit back when WWE gave the women a bit more time and utilized more women in matches. Right now, she'd get lost like Tamina and Natalya.

As a fan of her wrestling and her looks I have absolutely no problems with her being in a training role. Her body gets to rest and she still gets to hone her skills. I'm sure she'll end up on tv eventually anyway like Finlay.
Regarding her ending up on Superstars, I welcome it. They actually get time on that show.

I think a good way to potentially bring her in is to have the divas do some training at the performance center on Total Divas and have Del Ray get massively offended by one of the models and their overly inflated egos. Then she goes all Hiro Matsuda on them and takes apart their leg and/or stretches them into silly puddy.

I get what people are saying in this thread. I'm sure Sara is really making a big difference with some of the talent coming through and obviously she seems she's happy with her role in the company but as a fan of Del Rey it kinda sucks for me. I miss seeing her in the ring and I'd love to see her against Natalya at 'Mania. The two of them are talented enough that I think they could get a 'Mania crowd interested in a Diva's Title match. It would be a big achievement.
