I usually try to be positive and only talk about the things I enjoy, but you know what? F it. I would be all for Trips going for a Scorched Earth Policy and cutting guys like Ryder, Riley, Tatsu, Kidd, etc. they've been around to long to really be believably repackaged. Cut em, let them gain some more experience on the indies, then give them another shot in two-four years. The undercard and NXT is stacked with guys who can do their jobs way better than they can.
And yes, I have two friends in NXT who can wrestle their asses off, as well as speak in front of a crowd. I'd love for them to get a chance.
Well hope your friends and the other talents in NXT do get a shot. But I don't think that most of the current roster should be thrown under the bus. If WWE changed up the way it runs things, there would be enough room for everybody, Just manage their time better, get everyone over, cut out the random shilling and RAW recaps by 50%, stop with the main eventer over-saturation, and stop with excess use of part timers, past stars, etc.
Kidd and Yoshi have a ton of experience wrestling in Canada and Japan respectively. The Major Bros spent 2-3 years in the New York indy scene before getting signed.
I do not wish to see anyone get cut. Because honestly, the way that WWE has taken over the wrestling industry, those guys aren't going to be taken seriously, and I do not wish for them to carry around the stigma of being "WWE Rejects/Has Beens/Never Was" for the rest of their careers. I don't want to live in a world where random fans ask NWA World Heavyweight Champion Alex Riley why he doesn't wrestle anymore. WWE ISN'T going to give those guys another shot. Sure guys like Damien Sandow, Ryback, and the now released Chris Masters have been released and re-signed in the past, but they're the exceptions that prove the rule. Those guys were VERY young in their first runs, but most of the current guys are already pushing 30 or in their 30s and WWE has this weird "No Signings Over 30" policy.
Guys like Ryder, Hawkins, Riley, etc. have little to no leverage if they get cut. They aren't going to be allowed to use their WWE names/gimmicks, so they pretty much are back to being nobodies and starting over from scratch. All of their potential drawing power that would attract indy promoters and allow them to get indy bookings is tied up into their WWE personas. That doesn't really help them "improve their craft" or "gain experience" when they have no leverage to get bookings. And I just can't accept that.
Ryder and his peers deserve a whole lot better than to be the butt of jokes like the "How Long Has JTG Been Employed" clock or "What's X Doing in the Impact Zone" jokes.
