I thought this place would be dogging on Vader vs HBK @ Summerslam '96. I remember it being very underwhelming when I was younger.
However, I just re-watched the match, and it's really not too bad (hissy fit & shenanigans included). The action is pretty constant & the crowd was hot. Not a four star classic, but not bad at all.

Yup exactly. And the whole "I found god I'm a new man" is just bullshit, it's a gimmick. Shawn matured a little after he quit being a junkie, but deep down he's just a spoiled prick. I don't buy the Bret Hart reconciliation neither I think he's totally hypocrite, but that's another subject. As far a really BAD matchs, he had very few, the SOB is gifted edit: (forgot to quote dysco inferno by the way) A gimmick? Wow. It's quite clear from how he conducts himself as a human being and from opinions of those who have worked with Shawn since he found God, that it's like two different people.

I still can't believe no one brought up this one...Vince and Shane McMahon vs. Shawn Michaels and "GOD" from Backlash 2006.

I remember really thinking the HBK vs. Kennedy match from Armageddon 2007 was bad.

I say his worst wrestlemania match was his first, where him and marty lost to twin towers in a squash match.

I'd also like to add the match vs. Ken Shamrock at In Your House: D-Generation X. The match itself isn't necessarily bad per se, but extremely uninspired and downright lazy. And considering the perilous position the WWF was in at the time (Bret was gone and Stone Cold was working his way back into the ring from the neck injury) and the fact that the PPV was named after him, Shawn needed to give a much better effort than what he gave that night.

vs Mr Perfect at Summerslam 93 Given the people involved you'd expect a great match, Nope it was ASS This is what I came to say. I finally got to see it, an it was just two guys who styles did NOT mesh.

I was sitting in a pub, these two guys walk in talking about WrestleMania, which was the night before. One guys, "Yeah, HBK vs. Angle really sucked, but Big Show vs, Akebono was awesome."
So, there ya go. An insane stranger would vote for the best match I`ve ever seen.

Doesn't help that HBK was probably in the middle of his substance abuse, and that Shamrock was green. Talented, but green.

Here we go (in no order):
1. Vs. Hulk Hogan (SummerSlam 2005) 2. Vs. Ken Shamrock (IYH: D-Generation X) 3. w/ Triple H Vs. The Spirit Squad (Vengeance 2006) 4. Vs. HHH (Bad Blood 2004) 5. Vs. JBL (Elimination Chamber) 6. w/ "God" Vs. Vince and Shane McMahon (Backlash 2006) 7. Vs. Rick Martel (SummerSlam 1992) 8. Vs. Jim Duggan (Raw 1993) 9. Vs. Psycho Sid (Royal Rumble 1997) 10. Vs. Mr. Perfect (SummerSlam 1993)
Hm, I wonder who should be next.

Yea his 1993 match with Hennig was a major disappointment. I think Hennig back was aching up again and he was probably due to go under the knife soon...but Michaels actually seemed very out of shape and going through the motions.
1993 was not a good year for Shawn Michaels matches

His match with Hogan where he purposely oversold like crazy. I mean it's funny, but showed that deep down Shawn can still be an unprofessional dick. I disagree. HBK's overselling is what made that otherwise unmemorable match very entertaining. Besides, isn't overselling always better than underselling?

I can't remember if his X8 match against Hall was any good or not...

Just saying again, the Hogan-Michaels match is intentionally entertaining fun and the debate in this thread about it is a sureshot sign it shouldn't be on the list, as opposed to the 9 others that nobody's really going to bat for.
I mean, c'mon gang, look at Michaels' doughy druggie '94 Raw matches. All ten should be those.
