I never read her books. Is this what happens in the Suicide Squad series?

DC needs one of those signs for days since the last screw up. Or maybe a babysitter for editorial.

Also, from reading the outlines, I'm pretty sure that all of these are cause someone got high and watched some movies before this. The first one is highlander, second is Live and Let Die, third is Pinocchio, and fourth is Elves. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

The costumes, the art, now this with a sorta version of bad girl art.. New 52 was just a timewarp to 1993. Chromium die cut covers have to be next. This. And after that, Todd MacFarlane will be hired by them. /Thought the subject wording meant that All-Star Batman was finally restarting. //Too bad I can use the laughs.

I'm still pissed about what they did to Fairchild. {Spoiler}I saw in TEAM 7 that she died or something, yet then she was in that RAVAGERS comic... Am I correct on that? From what I gather, a lot of characters have had similar odd usage in the New 52. In one comic they're A, another they're B, then suddenly they're redebuting as C in another book. Heck, now that I think of it I seem to recall Hank Henshaw getting transformed in TEAM 7 as well, and then Cyborg Superman shows up in SUPERGIRL and it's someone else...

I'm half convinced DC is so tired of hearing about this sort of controversy that they've just decided to troll as hard as they can.
It's still far more tasteful than the drawing that got Ward Kimball hired at Disney.

This was my reply elsewhere, it includes reference to Jim Lee stating that this is a all being blown out of context:
"Jim Lee's point falls down because the context of the competition, regardless of the words of the eventual comic, is that they have asked people to draw a well known female character trying to commit suicide the week before suicide prevention week. He can talk about context all he likes, but the point is simply that this is a poorly timed and, frankly, all round ill conceived idea. The story could quite easily be about Harley over coming suicidal thoughts and finding something to make her want to live, but the competition isn't asking for someone to draw happy Harley, they're asking people to draw her attempting suicide. That's the issue. They have made a competition out of who can draw the saddest suicidal female character. From the company that literally invented 'fridging,' should we really be surprised?"

What is even the definition of "best for business" over at DC Comics? Not having midgets with unkempt beards as champion?

I haven't kept up with the monthly stuff for years, but as a guy who prefers DC to Marvel in a gun to the head situation, DC keeps making it harder to defend them.

Still trying to be dark, grim and edgy for no good reason DC? Other than that the Batman films made money? FTFY. Now the Nolan movies aren't by any means bad (OF COURSE) but sometimes I wonder if it was all worth it because they now think ALL the heroes must be like him. This isn't Christopher Nolan or Batman's fault, more like execs who don't understand that grim and gritty worked in those movies because it's BATMAN and his world is like that. Other than Firestorm (which I have a nostalgic obligation to follow), DC lost me with the New 52 for the most part. I don't even remember the last time I regularly followed Marvel a lot, which is weird cause the movies and EMH made me interested in the characters at least. My comic fandom is kind of like mine with wrestling...mostly follow the old stuff, pick out the best current stuff.

The context of the panels is Harley is looking for a new artist for her book. It's being done in the spirit of the old Chuck Jones "Duck Amuck" Looney Tunes cartoon, where the artist is putting the character s/he is drawing in ridiculous situations. With this in mind, I fail to see the problem with the panels.

In a footnote, they say Fairchild died in another book.
A FOOTNOTE.
Yeah, because it's not like they brought her in because she was the most popular Wildstorm character or anything.
I mean, I know they can retcon it, but they f***ing better.

Interesting point, I can see that. Unfortunately it seems like DC is making the exact same mistake the whole industry made in the late 80s and 90s when Watchmen, TDKR, etc came out. Nolan's films are the way they are because they tried to put Batman in a believably realistic context, a one-eighty from the Schumacher days. That's fine and dandy, but none of them are gory, juvenile sleaze like what DC seems to be attempting.

It never occurred to me until just now that Harley Quinn could become DC's Deadpool if they wanted to. *Yeah, Lobo could too, but he's more a parody of what Deadpool evolved out of. Apples and oranges.

Oh no, I agree with that. What works for one hero really doesn't translate well to another, but DC's doing it for the mere hope that "Hey, it works for Batman and he's popular, so make the others like him!" and thus miss the point completely. Hence why I said "no good reason".
