What a moronic idea. It made matches really weird and not flow correctly. It was a great idea to change it back from the Hogan era.

Blasphemer!!
The 6 sided ring gave TNA an unique identity. The X Division guys made great use of the new angles to attack from. Monty Brown found new ways to hit the POUNCE!!....PERIOD. Another upside was TNA used some unique camera angles to make matches look different from WWE's product. The only problems were the ring was harder than normal and the heavyweights didn't incorporate the ring in their matches.

Look how much better things are now that Hogan fixed it, Jack!

I still think it looks weird.
And a bit too "MMA" for my tastes.

I hated it at first, but I didn't grow to love it so much as, I no longer noticed it.

No it wasn't; it was fun/different. TNA needs more of that, not less.

That was the consensus when it was around, and I completely agree with you. Back when it was around I can't even tell you how many posts deemed that the six-sided ring made TNA look "bush league" and how it was hard to take the company as anything but a gimmick with the ring. Something something nostalgia and now some people want to bring it and other once hated things, like Don West, back. It wouldn't solve anything and people would more than likely look at it as a wrestling company trying to be "X-treme". It'd be stupid to bring the six-sided ring back.

I'm not a fan of the 6-sided ring, Irish whips and so forth looked awkward and outside of Monty Brown I can't really recall many other people using the different angles for much of anything.

The in ring stuff is more important than the shape of the ring.
It's funny, I do remember people complaining about the 6 sided ring back in the day and saying it looked stupid and 'bush league'.

Bringing back a four-sided ring was the only good idea Hogan & Bischoff had.

My only complaint of it was it made tag matches awkward since they always seemed to whip them right next to their partner and rarely did anyone do a stealth tag

I'll be honest.
It was one of the things that made me stop and watch TNA back before it was on SpikeTV. I was flipping through the channels and was like, "Huh, wait - is this a wrestling show?" and watched an episode.
Did it make/break things? Not really, but it did get me to start watching the show originally.

Didn't make a difference to me as far as in-ring action. But I think TNA should have kept it as an "identity" thing. Going back on it just pissed off fans of the "alternative" and didn't really improve anything.

I never cared for the six-sided ring, but I didn't really hate it, either. Most wrestlers looked awkward in it, probably since they WERE awkward in it.

We liked Don West before he left. Once he turned heel he gained nigh universal praise. I also feel like the Six Sided Ring was generally approved of by the time it left. I feel like I remember that. I remember this complaints too but I think maybe it was more of an even split of supporters and haters than it was haters that somehow became supporters because "something something nostalgia".

I hated the 6-sided ring but even I thought they should've kept it. It set them apart.

I thought it was stupid that they phased out the six sided ring as it got rid of the only thing that set them apart for well everyone else.
