That Lanny is such a bastard! He's just using his brother's death to get himself into the HOF!

Yeah, the only thing I got out of the potential great article about Savage's life was that Lanny wants in the HOF.

They should just do a deal. Macho goes in one year alone, then X amount of years later, they do the whole family.
It doesn't take a 'Genius' to work out that compromise.

They could do it the same year. Only the hardest of hardcores would want to see the Poffo family induction, a lot of people want to see Macho go in, just have Macho headline and have the Poffo's as the secondary induction.

To be fair to Lanny, Randy had said something to that effect while he was still alive too. He said he wanted his family, namely his dad, to get in if he was going to be put in and he wouldn't accept an induction any other way.

Great article.
Randy always put family first. I didn't know he got Lanny his job in WWF as well (Lanny's awesome WCW gig is well known).
I don't know that inducting Angelo & Lanny Poffo would be that much different than inducting Rocky Johnson & Peter Maivia. Sadly, unlike The Rock, Savage can't be there as the real reason the inductions are happening.

Didn't someone post that card on the boards once? Was it deemed legit?

Was Angelo Poffo that big of a name? Honestly, not really. He had a respectable career, but he was never a top guy anywhere that he worked.

Just induct the damn Poffo family. It will be a great moment. Why don't they deserve it exactly?

Was Angelo Poffo that big of a name? Honestly, not really. He had a respectable career, but he was never a top guy anywhere that he worked. Depends on what you're inducting him for. His booking in Lexington wasn't outright terrible even though it reaked of narcissism. He also 30+ year career that wasn't extremely memorable, especially since he was mostly a tag team guy, but lesser people have gone into the HOF despite achieving less, mostly a lot of earlier inductions such as Mikel Scicluna and Johnny Rodz. Still, at this point...I don't even care. If WWE couldn't strike a deal while he was alive, I'd rather them not even bother now. Until there's a "real" HOF, then it's just something they can attach his name to, to sell tickets.

Gordon Solie ultimately quit WCW over it (he was heavily involved in the running of their Hall of Fame) as he felt Angelo wasn't qualified to go into the HOF and was only inducted to keep Randy happy.

I'm curious to see how the WWE editors were to create a hype video putting over rest of the Poffos as big deals.

I'm curious to see how the WWE editors were to create a hype video putting over rest of the Poffos as big deals. Well, for Lanny it's easy. Just remind people he has a win over Hulk Hogan.

I'm curious to see how the WWE editors were to create a hype video putting over rest of the Poffos as big deals. They did it for Koko, they could do it for Angelo.

Was Angelo Poffo that big of a name? Honestly, not really. He had a respectable career, but he was never a top guy anywhere that he worked. I don't know how big he was as a wrestler, but the fact that he was a promoter from the classic territory days should give some credibility. WWE has honored old-school promoters with inductions (Eddie Graham, Paul Boesch). As for Lanny, induct him as a manager as The Genius. Maybe do all three in separate inductions, all in the same year.
