Seriously, what is it to you if the whole family goes in? Tarnishes a HOF with Vince's limo driver, Pete Rose and Drew Carey, which isn't even a Hall of Fame. I've said it before, but it's not like if the whole family goes in it'll be 45 minutes of Angelo and Lanny and then they go, "Also, some guy...Ricky, I think he was." and they do a 3 minute induction. Randy will get the lionshare of the attention. His wishes, as we know them, are fullfilled and your life carries on just as it was before, except when you look at Wikipedia it has the Poffo Family. Worst thing WWE ever did was invite the fans into the ceremony, now they think the HOF is for them and not for the wrestlers. I think it's all about the execution. I'm not against it as a means of tarnishing the family name, or the Hall of Fame. It's just that realistically, Randy Savage is all the fans really want. I don't have a problem with all of the Poffos all getting in there, but I wouldn't want Randy Savage inducted underneath a Poffo family blanket. Randy Savage deserves to be remembered on his own for his contributions. Lanny Poffo was a memorable guy, Angelo has his place in wrestling history, but Randy Savage still has a presence today and influenced a ton of guys currently wrestling. I'm not even really saying this with an entitlement of "this is what I want, so it must come to pass. I realize that the Hall of Fame isn't the most prestigious honor based on who's already been inducted so in the end what's gonna happen is gonna happen whether anyone likes it or not. But it is still a great resource for getting some real closure for a lot of guys in the WWE and I just find it to be more appropriate for Macho Man to be remembered as the force he was on his own before throwing the family in with him. Even if they wanna induct them all on the same night I think is alright, but not all at once. Let Lanny accept for himself and Angelo, then let Macho Man get top billing. . Then it's done, man. I remember Macho. You do. Everyone here more or less does. That's all that counts. Really, at the end of the day, what does it matter if he goes in under "Macho Man" Randy Savage or the Poffo Family? The Mega-Powers, Elizabeth, Macho King, being bitten by the King Cobra, it exists under all that. Those memories live in your heart, no matter what name he enters the HOF in. The fans want something that is purely aesthetic, rather than the love it means.

I don't see a problem with all the Poffos going in. As a kid I loved The Genius. He was a good character. Jobbers should have just as much room in the Hall of Fame. Their jobs are important to. There are already much less deserving people in the thing anyway and if it were to get Mach Man in finally then hell yeah get it done. Also they could have a more star studded HOF to weed them out too. Throw in Warrior and Arnold Schwartzennegger for the celeb ballet and The Outsiders. Suddenly no one even pays attention to the Poffos and Savage and Elizabeth get to go in as they should.

As long as Macho Man goes in I couldn't give a hoot if his brother and father are inducted as well if that is needed.

Just my opinion, but Edge, Koko B. Ware, and Trish Stratus are in there. The Poffo family going in is in no way any worse than those three. I agree with Koko being a joke, and perhaps Edge went in too soon (but make no mistake, he deserved an induction more than most). But Trish Stratus is pretty much the best overall Diva in the company's history (though AJ could eventually displace her). There's no question that she belongs in their Hall of Fame. While I definitely respect that opinion, I just think that, if she was going in at all, no way that she (and Sunny) should've went in before more deserving ladies like Miss Elizabeth.

They're not obligated to induct Angelo and Lanny just because Savage one time possibly requested so. It's the Hall of Fame, not the Hall of Favours.

Put them all in. I'd be fine with that - even if I didn't have the Midwestern bias.

I don't know anything about Angelo Poffo, but honestly, if The Genius wasn't related to Savage and was inducted into the HoF, I wouldn't blink an eyelid. I'd go, "Sure. That guy."
I'll never understand this weird kayfabe obsession some people have with the hall of fame, how only people who are booked to win a lot should be included. Lanny did plenty and the WWE was huge at the time. Put him in.

I'll never understand this weird kayfabe obsession some people have with the hall of fame, how only people who are booked to win a lot should be included. I agree (but come to the opposite conclusion about what that means). It's not like a legit sports Hall of fame where a committee carefully reviews qualifications of pro wrestlers. It's more like a local or regional sports or collegiate hall of fame, where everybody gets together every year to honor wrestling's past. That's all it is. When Bruno didn't want to take part in the ceremony, he wasn't in the Hall of Fame, when he did, they brought him to NYC and it was a great event. It had nothing to do with his "credentials". It's just whether a guy is willing to show up and whether the WWE thinks that a particular induction will add something to that annual event. I don't know if they ever actually invited Savage or not - I'm guessing he would have demanded a huge payday, so it was probably wasn't going to happen anyway. If he was willing to go in for a normal payday, but only if he was inducted as part of the "Poffo family", I can see the WWE declining that as well, just because it's not the story they want to tell at that event. They would have wanted Savage to be a semi-headliner. Inducting the "Poffo Family" is just kind of a less-compelling story for an awards show - it puts Randy's weird demands at the forefront of everything, and would encourage similar kind of demands in the future. If I'm writing/producing a Hall of Fame show, I want to induct Randy Savage, not the "Poffo Family". Maybe I'd compromise and agree to induct Angelo the next year and The Genius a few years after that, if I could have gotten a (living) Randy Savage at a WWE event again. But now, I probably wouldn't go anywhere near the family drama, I'd just leave Lanny to wallow in his own misery. It's supposed to be a positive, light event, they're not going to be inducting anyone against their family's wishes, it's just not that important.

Lanny did plenty and the WWE was huge at the time. Put him in. Genius has ALWAYS been a favour for Savage. WWF used him to manage Perfect and the Beverley Bros and he wrestled here and there. WWF let him go since he was a waste of money, then WCW paid him for years and literally never used him. Yeah put that guy in the HOF. Major contributions to the sport.

I like the idea of Savage first, then his family later.

I think one of the main reasons Elizabeth hasn't been inducted is because her mother blames pro wrestling for her death (in fact, she banned anyone wrestling-related from Liz's funeral services). But since Mattel recently made a Miss Elizabeth figure, perhaps that's a sign that she's now more willing to let Elizabeth be inducted.
