This title was the precursor to the famed "Winged Eagle" title that is so beloved. What are the opinions on this one, ignoring the fact that Hogan was the only official holder of it. Do you think it should have lasted longer than it did?

My issue with it is that it looks too oval-shaped, like it's squished too much. I think it would be better if it looked more like this:

Was the leather always blue? Every pic I see it with Hogan, it looks black

During this reign, Hogan also used another title for a couple show too...

It always looked like a belt from an earlier era, IMO. It would have been an amazing belt ten years earlier.

It was awful. But I had a plastic and foam version

One of my all-time favorites. I actually think it was more versatile than the Winged Eagle for its time, being bigger than its successor. When the '90s came and smaller wrestlers were holding it, the WE looked better, IMO. Not that the WE was bad by any means.
Trivia: the Hogan '86 design would be recycled for the GWF's North American title.

During this reign, Hogan also used another title for a couple show too... It looked like one of those coins from Super Mario Brothers.

During this reign, Hogan also used another title for a couple show too... My absolute favorite belt of all time The one in these pics I have never seen, but I really like it. Any other pics of it out there?

it looks ordinary, like it's nothing special at all.

I really don't like the shape of the main plate.

it looks ordinary, like it's nothing special at all. Really? To me it looks like the definitive championship wrestling belt. If I couldn't read, I would know it's a world title-the globe is right there, and of course the flags. It tells the purpose of the belt, unlike some monstrosities I have seen

It was effective, despite being a simple design. I'd say it's my 3rd favorite title behind the Attitude Era and the Winged Eagle.

Any other pics of it out there? Nope but there is a match of Hogan Vs. Paul Orndorff in 1986 with Hogan wearing the belt. I think it was supposed to replace the Hogan 86 belt but never did. The design was later reused for the WCW six man tag and the current ROH tv title. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RR89rRLzYz4&feature=player_embedded
