This is also the third straight screwjob ending on a PPV. If you think that won't dissuade people you're out of your mind.

Seriously. I was one of those guys saying that this storyline was gonna be awesome, make Bryan the man and we just needed patience. My patience ran out last PPV, I'm so far beyond the point of caring now that tonight's finish had no effect on me. Now I'm just going to be jaded about every storyline WWE does with a performer I actually like. I was good with it becuase I knew something big would happen with Trips reffing at Summerslam, and him turning heel has needed to happen for a while. And he's done some very good work, particularly in first month or so of this angle. But the more they kept denyin' Bryan, the more it started to stink. I was all for Hunter turning heel on Bryan as I figured this was going to be it. This was Bryans run as the man, this was going to be the storyline we look back on in years to come where it all started for Bryan, his 3:16. He got booted down to the bottom of the ladder and he was gonna climb it again rung by rung until he was champion. We didn't get that. What we got was Hunter and Stephanie flipping between heel and face actions in such a short amount of time it'd make Kane cringe, Bryan running into shitty finish after shitty finish seemingly designed to be a giant middle finger to everyone, Orton trying his best to grab some of the spotlight but ultimately failing to be anything but an avatar of Hunter and Big Show's mid-life crisis. The ONLY good thing to come out of this storyline so far was Goldust coming back and a slight push for Cody to a tag title reign that he could have gotten before this storyline even started.

This is why Backlund should have been the ref.

Seriously, Orton f***ing sucks. Orton has been doing a good job with what he's been given, the problem is that pretty much any upper level guy could fill that role as HHH and Steph have been getting most of the heat and promo time. He's just the guy that keeps fighting D-Bry for no discernible reason at this point.

I may be a "smart mark", doesn't mean I can't get emotionally invested in angles.

Why are people assuming they're going to do Cena Vs. Orton? There's nothing to indicate that at all!
Making yourself mad over a possible outcome that may or may not happen seems strange to me.

Seriously, who's going to bother to buy a WWE PPV at this point? It's been months of screwy finishes now.

Seriously, who's going to bother to buy a WWE PPV at this point? It's been months of screwy finishes now. Actually, thinking on it, the only clean finishes to any PPV this year've been Cena beating Rock at Mania and Ryback at... whatever this year's filler PPV was called.

The whole complaint about PPVs having screwy endings. Didn't we have a period in fall 1998 where events ended with screwy finishes? Whether if it was Stone Cold getting pinned by both Undertaker and Kane, Stone Cold not counting the fall for the WWF Championship, The Rock turning heel and joining The Corporation, and so on, consecutive screwy endings are nothing new.

Whether if it was Stone Cold getting pinned by both Undertaker and Kane, Stone Cold not counting the fall for the WWF Championship, The Rock turning heel and joining The Corporation, and so on, consecutive screwy endings are nothing new. There's a difference there though. Those were screwy finishes within angles that were compelling. The angles today are not nearly as compelling. They also almost had to do screwball finishes to get people to watch Raw the next night b/c of the War. They're doing cliffhanger PPV endings today when the majority of the audience buying the damn show is already going to watch Raw if they watch wrestling. They don't need to fight for viewers the next night like they used to. I'd also say there is literally nobody on the roster at the level of Stone Cold, Rock, or Undertaker in that time period on the roster today, aside from maybe Cena, but he is booked so horribly that people know what is going to happen the moment Cena comes out. Talent like theirs made really wacky stuff a lot more palatable. I agree with your point, but its comparing apples to oranges.

Long live the Vacant legacy! Does this mean that HBK's return match will, in fact, be against Vacant?
