I think it's all setting up another good match for Mania next year.
Bryan/HBK would definitely be a solid match.
Orton defends against someone, possibly Punk/Del Rio?
Undertaker/Brock Lesnar
Cena faces Punk/Del Rio (whichever one Orton doesn't get).
That's four decent ones right there.

The idea of paying hundreds of dollars to go see an Orton / del Rio match? And better yet, an Orton/Del Rio match where Del Rio is the anti-corporate rebel babyface taking down the Authority!

Honestly, TNA had the better PPV this month. WWE had 2 attempts at beating BFG and they lost both of them.

It wasn't the greatest PPV but I was entertained enough for a filler PPV. It's not like this is WrestleMania. People saying that Bound For Glory was better than this I totally disagree with.

Seriously, Orton f***ing sucks. Orton has been doing a good job with what he's been given, the problem is that pretty much any upper level guy could fill that role as HHH and Steph have been getting most of the heat and promo time. He's just the guy that keeps fighting D-Bry for no discernible reason at this point. There's nothing wrong with being "The Guy that Keeps Fighting Bryan". The problem is that in Orton's case, it's a big step down. And his gimmick just doesn't work with it. Orton's angry rapist Viper character is a BAD fit as HHH's chosen champion, and WWE knows it. That's why he has such little interaction with HHH and Steph. They should've used someone less gimmicky who could just be a mannequin for the belt while HHH and Steph gush over how awesome he is. If they didn't turn Cody face, maybe he could've fit that role.

I can see Punk feuding with Orton to close out the year. Maybe Punk gets the belt...then Punk/Cena at WM30 to unify the titles? They deserve a Wrestlemania match, especially if Punk is leaving next year as speculated (3-year contract?). You can realistically turn Cena "heel" here by having him do what's best for business by swindling Punk out of the belt since he's leaving (to prevent what happened last time). It'd be a cool tie-in, I think. Of course, it all depends on if that's actually happening or not.
I don't think Michaels went heel tonight, I think he just saw Bryan attack his best friend and reacted on emotional instinct. That's why he hesitated a bit. I will admit that I was half-paying attention at this point, so I missed some of the shenanigans beforehand. If anything, It'd probably lead to HBK vs HHH at WM30, but that's all on Shawn so who knows where they're going - if anywhere.
I just wonder now if we're getting Big Show vs HHH (urgh) or if they're going to put him into a program with Bryan. They're clearly doing something with those two. Survivor Series would probably have one of the two matches.

Think Bryan might disappear for a while, leaving Orton, Triple H and Show to continue the feud. Bryan is pretty much done at this point in that he has had three WWE title oppertunities and despite winning two of the three bouts, he has not come away with the gold. It shows that the company probably dont have the faith to give him the title.

Solid enough ppv if a little predictable. Some nice spots here and there kept me interested in most matches, and the tag match was the surprise of the night as it was a great little match. The superplex to the floor was just superb.
As for where they go from here, far from showing they dont have faith in daniel bryan, if anything it shows they are setting up for him finally getting the title at a bigger show (prob wm). I can see him winning the rumble. If not that, then clearly a programme with triple h is coming and they dont give that to someone they dont have faith in.
I dont see hbk coming back for one last match, and if he did the only match that would make sense would be vs triple h at mania. I would prefer he stayed away from the ring though as he has nothing to prove.
The next wwe title feud we will have to endure i fear is big show v randy orton. Fingers crossed they are not setting up for orton v cena at mania to unify the titles, as though i want the belts unified, i just dont want to see that match. Orton v cena v bryan.....maybe could live with that.

You say that, but people said that at Battleground, and at Night of Champions, and even a few after SummerSlam. If Bryan had won tonight, the pop still would have been huge and no damage would have been done. You can't speak for the millions of people who watch WWE. Neither can any one else on here, so then whats the point of any of us voicing our opinions. There's a difference between voicing your opinion, and trying to voice everyone's.

I don't think I need to, the response has been mostly negative from what I've read. As it should be. That was awful. It compelled me enough to reactivate this account and post about it, which I rarely ever do.

As I said, people were saying the fans would lose interest after NOC and Battleground, but they sounded plenty interested last night and would have popped huge had Bryan won.

I don't buy that Internet fans are that much of a minority, if they are at all. The fact is, this sort of place is very easy to find on the Internet, and it's not some niche thing; plus, rebellious chants, smarky signs, and all of that are basically omnipresent these days. I'm not saying hardcore fans make up the full crowd or anything, but I'd say they're probably at least a third of it these days if not more.
