Kayfabe wise wouldn't it be HBK i mean they did call him the greatest He's like Brett Favre in kayfabe: has the most exciting matches, has all the tools, but after being really clutch in his prime, spent the latter part of his career losing the big matches spectacularly. The winner is Hogan. Ridiculous win loss record and way more longevity to put him over other dominant guys like Goldberg and the Ultimate Warrior.

If Hogan ever goes back to WWE they'll say he is. Until then they'll want us to believe it's Cena.

I think WCW Magazine tallied the wins up once and Hogan was top, Flair was second. But this was 2001.

In kayfabe, I don't think Ultimate Warrior ever lost a match clean in his career.

Gotta go with Sammartino for his near-eight-year title reign, and a three-year one after that.
Win the title X times = someone was better than you X times to take it away Hold the title X years = you were the f***ing man for that entire time

In kayfabe, I don't think Ultimate Warrior ever lost a match clean in his career. I don't think he did. He lost to Rick Rude via Bobby Heenan interference. He lost to Andre on a house show in Europe, but Andre held on the ropes during the pin. He lost to Sergeant Slaughter after Randy Savage interfered and attacked him with a scepter. He lost to Savage in a house show steel cage match where Sherri interfered as Savage exited the cage. He lost to Hollywood Hogan after Horace Hogan interfered and hit him with a chair. As for his key wins, he beat Hogan, Savage, Hunter Hearst Helmsley, Rick Rude, and Ted DiBiase.

I'd say The Rock. He's beaten almost every big WWE name in the last 20 or so years that that isn't dead/retired.

Jericho. He beat the two biggest stars of his era back to back in the same night and took World championships from both and became the first ever undisputed champion. That's arguably the greatest kayfabe accomplishment in all of wrestling history.

Hulk Hogan. He's been beaten, but his Kayfabe accomplishments are nearly unequaled. He won the WWF title from the Iron Sheik and went on an epic series of title reigns where he beat many of the top monster heels of all time. He made WWF into a worldwide sports entertainment super-power. Then he went and did the same thing in WCW. With a few exceptions, he beat every major superstar that's ever played the game. He beat Ric Flair, he beat the Undertaker, he beat Shawn Michaels, and he even beat the Ultimate Warrior with a glorious Hadoken. When he was past his prime, he took the Rock to the limit and brought Hulkamania into the 21st Century.
He's vanquished cannibals, commies, and cults. He was in Rocky III. He's a household name. It's on record that when he had the WWF Title that he communicated directly with God Almighty himself.
He bodyslammed a 7'8 700lb Monster named Andre the Giant to defend his World Title in front of 93,000 fans in the Pontiac Silverdome. Andre died the next day, brother.

Cena as he's beat both HBK and The Rock, HBK and The Rock in turn have beat most of the others that could potentially be called the greatest. Yeah, but the OP said IN kayfabe.

Dudes.
Flair.
Most world titles. What other kayfabe metric for success matters?

Ken Shamrock beat the Rock at WrestleMania.
Well, until the decision was reversed due to unsportsmanlike conduct, but that was weak.

Dudes. Flair. Most world titles. What other kayfabe metric for success matters? If we're talking WWE kayfabe he won almost all of those world titles in either NWA, or worse, WCW. They're both inferior rasslin companies that took place in smoke filled armories and dingy high school gyms. He's basically a two time world champion in the WWE Universe.

Virgil then defeated Repo Man. Therefore, Virgil. Dibiase Jr replaced Virgil with Maryse. Therefore, Maryse. Miz gets to pin Maryse nightly. Bastard.

By this logic, Bruno in his prime: able to hang with Cena, Hogan, Taker, etc?
