Enjoyable for what it was There was no real big picture moving in terms of anything for the future. They could have ended it on the diamonds stuff and they could realistically end it here too Ending feels like a swan song Yeah, I quite liked the movie but this didn't really do anything to make me interested in season 6. Feels like the only thing actually accomplished is Spinel might show up in the background every once in awhile.

Yea, as a movie it is perfectly fine but there was no real movement in terms of the future Even stuff you think would advance like Connie/Steven didn't really go far. Felt like a movie for the fans and I can't be mad at that as this was the first time I actually sat down and watched the story in order to get an understanding so I liked it Don't really know where they can go from there but the happy ending song did make me think it could be over

Man Pink Diamond is a horrible person. At this rate, I think her war lord older sisters / mothers are better people.

I loved how it was basically like how the DBZ movies were back in the day. Also one song made me full on ugly cry.

The movie was good, the soundtrack was awesome with one song in particular spring boarding its way into my all time favorite villain song list. (I enjoyed it so much I have listened to it over and over again.)

Decided to just read the plot and listen to the songs.
Seems kinda of a lazy written movie, but handsome Gregsteve is pretty cool. And while I dislike the Spinel concept the songs are pretty awesome.

You're doing yourself a major disservice. I think the execution was pretty excellent, and the animation was a lot of fun.

I will say this. As someone who never really paid full attention to the story up until this weekend, the movie itself was pretty good. There was no real long term booking but everything flowed together and the movie itself came across like a thank you to the fans Spinel ended up coming out a good villain and a good character worth keeping an eye on

The whole plot was "lets revisit every single character moment again" which made Spinel basically a irrelevant villain and just a device for the memories. Which if I wanted I would just rewatch the show again. Seriously at this point Ruby + Sapphire has been beaten into dust.

I mean they made no bones about, the characters having to relive certain things and Steven himself reverting back to "powerless" I wouldn't say Spinel was irrelevant though. There is something there to her as a device, which is Pink Diamond is still a bitch but her character itself is different from the others and I like that Tho what I didn't like was her saying Steven signing won't make anything better and Steven singing made things better. They had the chance to go a little bit different and have the stakes going into a new season be elevated. BUT, in saying that can't really be mad with them ending the movie the way they did since nothing significant happened Surprisingly, they didn't go more into the Connie/Steven dynamic. At their ages now you expect it to be played up more which it probably will in the next season. Spinel with the diamonds could be interesting as well

Spinel with the diamonds could be interesting as well I wish we had more Diamonds interaction, more focus on Spinel or The B team.I love white diamond trying to be "normal". Also I wish they had played up the fact that Spinel was very different(the cartoon old school look) and make the movie based around that kind of style. As it is it just feels kinda out of place. Even if she was beautifully animated

Even if she was beautifully animated I think they didn't focus on the Diamonds as hard due to it being the last plot point but I did get a kick out of the diamonds trying to be normal and White Diamond basically shitting on the earth while trying not to offend Steven Yea i'm a little surprised they didn't focus on Bismuth and the others as much. It seemed starting that this was going to be a chance for them to step up while the regulars are out but they went back to the background pretty fast. I do think they should focus an episode on Spinel in the future and use the old school look for an whole episode. Be a good way to break things up

I watched the movie with my roommates and it was my first exposure to the entire show. It was pretty fun.

Kind of hoping they end up trying to sneak in a crossover with OK KO at some point. Always felt like there was more to do with the two series running into each other, and while OK KO's finale is fantastic I wouldn't mind seeing a little more of it.
And hey, Garnet does show up in the OK KO finale so why not?

I could see a reference, like maybe Steven buys a pack of hero cards from OK KO and gives some of his Guys to Onion or whoever due to not collecting them so much anymore.
