For the record, I am shocked, SHOCKED!, to find that Bob Dylan's only been used three times in nine seasons. If it's not taken in the remainder of this season, I've got my first round song for the next lined up.

There are about 5 artists I am shocked have been used 0 times, but I won't say who so I can hoarde them for myself in case of singoff or an applicable theme round.

Sitting on 9 songs still  . So, I'll pm the remaining 6 contestants in a moment. I'll reveal Round 14's category. You can choose to send me the song now or wait until Round 13 plays out. The theme is:  Film Club Choose 1 Song inspired by one of these ten film genres/types: Action/Adventure
Comedy
Crime
Fantasy
Foreign Film
Horror
Independent Film
Romance
Science Fiction
Western
The song must reference one of these film genres in some way, either in the title or the lyrics. For example, you can choose a song that talks about robots in order to fulfill the Science Fiction genre or a song about monsters for Horror. A song about falling in love or a romantic place would fulfill the Romance genre, while a song about committing a robbery or murder would fulfill Crime. You may choose a song from a film's soundtrack or score but it must directly reference a specific genre. In the case of Independent film, you may choose a song from an artist not signed to a major label or a performance from an amateur musician or band. You can fulfill the Foreign Film category by choosing a song performed in a Non-English language or a country not from the United States, Canada, or England. If you can think of other ways a song can fulfill a genre, please let me know and I'll make a ruling. |

...So pretty much free pick if you can BS the reason enough. Nah. It will, in theory, be similar to the School Subjects or Sin Rounds from last Season: lots of options, some better than others  . As it is, you might be able to BS but that doesn't mean the other contestants can BS better . |

If anyone tried to use AC/DC they should go straight to the bottom of the rankings. Only because they've been used this season already, and this isn't a double dip round of course.

So I've had an idea for a season of Fan Idol. Instead of the knock out system in place we use a league system for 12-15 rounds and then the top 4 will be in a play off to crown the champ.

So I've had an idea for a season of Fan Idol. Instead of the knock out system in place we use a league system for 12-15 rounds and then the top 4 will be in a play off to crown the champ. I like that would give people a chance to play more and not worry about being eliminated. |

I was thinking that, this game is a one mistake and your done if their is a league system then there is more tension outside of "am i in the bottom 2"? |

Season One was 1 and done format. Just tested the waters and people dug it.
LOVE a lot of the evolutions to the game. It gets better. (I'm still a category fiend though. Coming up with categories that are fresh is my favorite part. That and the songs. And the advancing. And the judging. And the write-ups. And the people.)
EDIT: Just deleted something. Not worth taking a light-hearted post into opening a can of worms.

If there is gonna be a league system next season 1 thing I would recommend is if say you do 15 rounds then count everyone top 14 scores or if 12 rounds count peoples top 11 scores. Basically a everyones worst 1 score is thrown out that way people don't feel stuck to the bottom of the table if they whiff on a round or two.
