Update: I have the sing-off results but my power went out. Hoping it gets fixed soon. That said, I'll pm a judge and tell them to post them. Barring that, I can do it but i'm a bit limited on my cell.

 The Judges have reached a decision for Elimination Sing-Off #14, held between Gus Richlen, Inuyasha Mark, and Knailsic Loves to Boogie. Both the quality of the songs chosen and the intensity of the competition has steadily been increasing for several months now. Whoever does emerge as the 9th FAN Idol has certainly earned it, against arguably the deepest field of contestants in FAN Idol's history. Both Knailsic and Gus have made it far in multiple seasons of FAN Idol, and both would be fantastic winners. For this Sing-Off, Knailsic chose to employ Parquet Floor's Borrowed Time, while Gus countered with Tony Bennett's duet with Carrie Underwood, It Had to Be You. In an interesting turn of events, all 8 judges got their verdicts in. However, in a 5-3 decision, the Judges have elected to use the Save! This means both Knailsic and Gus Richlen will be moving on to the next round! Continue to give it your all contestants, it's not getting any easier from here. |

Right. Knailsic had the 3-2 score but the judges also voted for the Save with a majority vote 3-2. I kept it going because the other judges continued to vote and I wanted to make sure Natural had a chance to vote before judging a main round.

5 out of 6 sets of songs are in for Round 36: Mood Ring. Great pace with the Round and, if we make some more progress tonight, I'll reveal Round 37's theme.

The two remaining contestants are on-line. No rush on them, because this is a quite demanding category but, as most of the remaining six contestants are on-line (one of the benefits of getting down to such a number is that everyone can be on-line at the same time on a fairly regular basis), I'm going to reveal the next category which will play off of, imo, the best one-two category sequence last Season. Round 37's category is...  The Return of the Island of Misfit GenresChoose 4 Songs, 1 song each, for any four of the following ten musical genres that are often overlooked in FAN Idol:
Blues/Jazz
Classical
Country/Folk Music
Electronic
Hip Hop/R&B
Latin
Metal
New Wave
Punk
Reggae There is a catch: the Winner of Round 36 will have the option of making one of these categories mandatory for every contestant to choose one song from. In order to keep the scoring in order, only the three highest scoring songs for this Round will count for each contestant's Round total. The lowest scoring song will be dropped. |
