It doesn't happen often but when it does it's really obvious.
My vote goes to Trish Stratus. During her run and of course when she retired. I remember comments like "The greatest female in the history of WWE" and "If it wasn't for Trish, Mickie James wouldn't even be in the WWE"
Although she worked hard, she was overrated.

The Rock, no one else had a completely terrible episode of Raw devoted to their birthday

As far as being protected in kayfabe goes I'd say Stone Cold.

Trish wasn't overrated tbh, She became A decent in ring competitor and had many awesome matches.

The Rock. Has even Vince McMahon even gotten an entire episode of Raw centered on his birthday? (And no, the "Mr. McMahon Appreciation Night" doesn't count, as it wasn't his birthday).

The Rock.
As for Trish: Yeah, she improved a great deal. But she was overrated by the end of her run

The Rock, but it somehow feels fitting due to his character being an egomaniac. I can totally see him, in character, being like "IF YOU WANT THE ROCK ON RAW, THEN RAW HAS GOTTA SHOOOOOOOOW IT TO THE ROCK THAT IT WANTS HIM."

I'll have to say Triple H. While the Rock has had more praise given to him, he at least deserved most of it.

HHH - Obligatory "and HHH" must be added to all lists of greatest ever wrestlers/moves/tag teams/entrance music/attire etc...
Trish - She had big tits. That was the core of her popularity. On the mic and in the ring she was always average. She improved a lot, but only went from useless to satisfactory.
Andre The Giant - Not because he doesn't deserve to be regarded as a legend, but rather because they use him as a substitute for Hogan. They can't bring themselves to praise Hogan as their all time greatest legend, so Andre gets shoehorned into the role. It's kinda ridiculous.

Not an entire show, but DX threw him a birthday party that lasted almost the entire first hour. The only memorable part about that show--and not in a good way--was Vince getting into hot water with GLAAD for remarking about some Cirque du Soleil performers that, "those masks are really gay."

Other: The WWE itself.
DID YOU KNOW? The WWE kisses its own ass more than the NFL, CFL, and English Premiere League COMBINED!!!11! DID YOU KNOW? The WWE has more Facebook friends than Jesus H. Christ, Ghandi, and CNN! DID YOU KNOW? Last Thursday between the hours of 7pm and 7:12pm, the WWE sold more sheep masks than the last Tea Party convention!
DID YOU KNOW? Someone gets paid to write that crap. Source: Trendrr.com
