Target Field is going to play well to his strengths, that's for sure.

Not a terrible contract for the twins. I would have gone with someone a bit more reliable if I were the twins though.

I guess the ballpark will hide his home run tendencies?

Cano now is denying that he ever asked for more than $300 million and says he's been asking for only $250 million

Scott Kazmir going to Oakland on a 2 year deal. Like that move for the A's (never thought I'd say that.)
Non-tender deadline is tonight. So far: A's have tendered Daric Barton Cubs non-tender Daniel Bard Marlins tender Logan Morrison Mets non-tender Omar Quintanilla and Scott Atchison. Pirates tender Charlie Morton Royals non-tender Chris Getz

The A's are no longer pursuing Bartolo Colon. FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Dodgers are in the mix for Orioles closer Jim Johnson. Not really sure what the O's can get for Johnson. If the Dodgers are going to let him close games then the package should be much higher. I know the Dodgers have a talent-rich farm system, so hopefully the O's can get a quality prospect or two.

If I'm the O's and I can't re-sign Weiters, I absolutely try to do a Johnson/Weiters for prospects deal or perhaps a Matt Kemp and prospects deal.
