He really didn't flop. The WWE got cold feet and decided to completely stop with pushing him--he probably wasn't ready in their eyes...but they never really gave it a chance. He was just gone one day.

I'm guessing its a case of the writing department not having anything good for him or Vince just not liking his character. If Vince liked him he would have been pushed quickly.

All I remember was that he was Angle's wheelchair pusher. He lacked wrestling skills and charisma to really be noticed.

I don't think Luther was pushed hard enough or had the backing or high hopes from the office to really be considered a flop. There were a lot of big guys/monster heels going into the company at the time, and while some of them did have memorable characters (Heidenreich, Snitsky), at the end of the day, most of them were just glorified enhancement talents meant to put over the smaller faces or as an extension of the heels that they were aligned with.

What's up with these picks?
Why not choose to discuss a superstar that people actually thought had a chance to succeed?

I wonder if it was personality problems. Dude might have been a bit nuts since he was an ex-con. Some his promo stories were nuts.

Ah yes, Luther Reigns. There he was. He ummm...he had muscles. And a crew cut. Did he have any tribal tattoos? A better question: did he have any qualities generally associated with being a successful wrestler other than muscles?

I thought he had a bad name, wasn't good in the ring, and wasn't very charismatic. He did have an impressive build. I noticed that when he was Horshu on WCW b-shows. I guess his look and his body kept him around for years until WWE finally put him on TV as a tough guy to put with Angle.

What's up with these picks? Why not choose to discuss a superstar that people actually thought had a chance to succeed? how many guys at the top of the card did nothing. These guys are guys who could at best be Kane, which was probably what WWE was hoping for, or at worst someone like Hercules who lasted six years was over as a heel and a face and worked singles and teams. Frankly I liked Reigns more than just about any of the other hosses who came around in the mid 00's except maybe Tomko

Luther Reigns can at least say he had PPV single matches with Eddie and Undertaker. Something not a lot of guys can say in this business.

What's up with these picks? Why not choose to discuss a superstar that people actually thought had a chance to succeed? I'm working from the bottom up. I'm starting with the rather forgettable guys like Mordecai and Luther Reigns, before moving up to the more memorable busts like Bobby Lashley and Scott Steiner circa 2003. I'm not doing Sean O'Haire because I already have a thread dedicated to him.

This is confusing I started reading this thread about Luthor reigns, but all the replies are about mordecai??? Instead of editing this one thread, why not make a new thread for each superstar, would make it easier

Too generic. Also, we you should list the most common reason in the OP once each wrestler is done.

Remember him having a pretty bad match against the Undertaker at No Way Out 2005, wasn't he released not too long after that match?
