If they want to throw 11 years of brand recognition down the drain that'd be a great idea. Yes, they have brand recognition. Their brand is recognised as being shit. Funnily enough, this is not advantageous.

No need to argue with SOR guys. He's making a good point. Thing is, you can't draw in a casual audience with a title like TNA. You bring it up to someone that hasn't heard of it before and they're going to look at you like you're a frigging weirdo.

Honestly, I think the TNA brand name is extremely damaged as it is, much like WCW in 2001 (brand name recognition can be a negative when the larger audience has decided the brand sucks), so a fresh start while keeping the name of the weekly show Impact might be a good thing to do, especially if the Carters do indeed end up selling.

No, they shouldn't. TNA is an international brand, and in most countries, the name has no dirty connotation at all. Changing the brand just for the benefit of the American market, after spending 10+ years establishing it workwide would be pointless, and as mentioned before, the least of their worries. This "name change" thingie is just another of those arbitrary goalposts that the IWC seems to create every six months, like "they should change their name/fire X or Y/stop pushing X or Y/hire X or Y/go live/go on the road/etc, it's holding them back". Well... Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, ex-patriots in foreign countries. The name isn't just a laughing stock in America. Also, judging by NXT, and TNA about to die speculation despite its popularity abroad, an American company should really focus on pleasing its american audience. There's a reason WWE just gave up on NXT after it left SyFy and the new NXT is like a month behind and the people who come up had like different face/heel alignments.

You can call a bologna sandwich a pork and beef filet served inside bakery fresh bread-- it's still a bologna sandwich.

Or potato soup, or really anything potato related.

If they want to throw 11 years of brand recognition down the drain that'd be a great idea. How would they effect them that much? I mean the WWF changed to the WWE. Didn't hurt them. Honestly they should have went to Impact Wrestling and got ride of TNA. The name isn't that major as it is outside the UK. TNA is a horrible name idea to start with because most people still think Tits and ass and not Total Nonstop action. That it is called and how untruthful it is. If they make the reveal on there TV show, than those who watch it regularly will figure it out anyway. Plus the time slots didn't change. Hell NWA changed to WCW without issues that was anything major. They could use a more professional name. WWF and WWE aren't massive changes though. NWA changing to World Championship Wrestling made sense because it was a TV Show name that people already knew. If TNA wanted to be Impact Wrestling full time, that would work. Most ideas in general for name changes (At least online) consist of something completely different to TNA so it'd be hard to know who they are. "Ladies and Gentlemen Southern Style Wrestling is coming to your hometown featuring your favourite stars such as AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Samoa Joe. Buy tickets now" If someone hears that how do they know it's TNA? They don't. No, they shouldn't. TNA is an international brand, and in most countries, the name has no dirty connotation at all. Changing the brand just for the benefit of the American market, after spending 10+ years establishing it workwide would be pointless, and as mentioned before, the least of their worries. I am Australian and nobody knows TNA as Tits N' Ass over here. Same for New Zealand. I highly doubt the UK know it as that as well. Canada and Americans in foreign countries are the only people "laughing" over the TNA name.

That name probably gets more people to tune in than anything else due to horny teenages thinking it means something else for a split second. Stick around for the Knockouts and the horndogs get their wish.

I've thought about it and I'll say yes. As other have said, just the name "TNA" has a stink on it within the industry (not to mention scoffs from people who don't watch wrestling) that puts it at a disadvantage. The brand name is damaged goods at this point. If they changed the name, it couldn't hurt.

At this point, it's too damn late. TNA could had re-branded itself years back but in typical TNA fashion, no one knew what was going on and just quit trying. I can tell you they lost customers and viewers from their name because most don't know they are a wrestling promotion.

Just emphasize Impact Wrestling and slowly phase TNA out. They should have been doing that since 2011 anyway.
Having a 3 letter acronym is not necessary, especially when the alternative is TNA.
